Pretty fine with Bulkhead honestly. Wish he had stockier proportions, but it makes me happy to see them willing to do redesigns like this again.

I mean Legacy Bulkhead is a pretty similar design to that one, doesnt have the grill chest or shoulder kibble but that's because its not supposed to be Animated.

Because people can't help but see Green Grapple and be reminded of black and purple Prowl and then prepare themselves for Red Jazz.

    Bulkhead splits two ways:

You could be of the camp that G1-ifying TFA/TFP Bulkhead is the ultimate compliment. It's official endorsement that these characters were "founders" of a new generation of Transformers fans, enough that their influence is comparable to that of even the most original iteration of the brand.

You could also be of the camp that G1-ification is the ultimate disgrace. Creators worked so hard to redesign/change the status quo of Transformers, and bringing these newer characters back to old traditions is a disservice to that effort.

G1 has a lot of strengths and desirable attributes, many of which I don't believe include its boxy and straightforward aesthetic. I don't think every new idea Transformers introduces should be rewritten with that aesthetic

The photos expose Skids hollowness, i think he will look better in hand

the honda city he is based on is quite box so the aesthetic works

it looks like he has all the standard articulation and an ab crunch, so i cant really complain about anything as long as theres no quality control issue

Bulk head is…a nice try, i guess, but without his potbelly frame, it doesnt “feel” like the character

For my money, Skids doesn't look too bad. I'm happy with my T30 version, but might be convinced if there's an interesting repaint down the line.

I have no problem with Bulkhead getting a G1 makeover, since I'm lucky enough to have the Prime toys already. I do think he'd look better if his cab chest sat lower and he had a shorter torso - he looks a bit lanky.

My main worry though is that like the recent Grapple & Inferno, Bulkhead's alt mode will be way out of scale with other deluxe cars. I've stuck with my CHUG Inferno for that very reason. Skids looks similarly tiny.

NGL I don't understand the hate for these two. I think they look great!

Skids is yet another fine update of a G1 character, and Bulkhead is a neat adaptation of the character to fit a G1 aesthetic (which looks to be part of the premise behind this line).

These look really small.  Maybe it is the lighting?  lol  And did they just put a Bulkhead head on top of a green Earthrise Grapple body?  I am curious on what the other figures of the line would look like.

Can someone explain what people mean by a minicon port cause it looks like it's just how you peg the shield into his arm

... That's a surprise. Skids looks great for sure, but I have mixed feeling about Bulkhead. When a return to Transformers Prime was Leaked, I didn't expect a g1 design scheme for them. I expected, more or less, their animated designs in new Toy form. I was going to use Legacy to fill the gaps on the ones I missed in the original line. Bulkhead was one of those.

I'll still probably get him because I oddly don't have a Bulkhead whatsoever, but if the rest of the cast is like this, it's gonna be a tough sell for me. Not that their bad or anything - this is a REALLY good Neo-G1 Bulkhead design - but because the different look on Prime *was* the selling point.

I'll get him. But if other Prime characters are like him, I'll probably be more selective in th is line than the last two trilogies.

Between Skids' Energon ax and the Minicon ports on Bulkhead, it sure looks like they are folding the Unicorn Trilogy into G1 Legacy.

Yeah, Blaster's blaster should be the traditional black one. Now if they give him those hand speakers that he's used on occasion against Soundwave then fine. I don't care what color they are.

I personally like that Skids, but I am definitely disappointed with this Bulkhead if it supposed to be a Prime Bulkhead.

I tend to view it through the scope of "does the update do better than the original?"

If no, then followed by "Is the original easily obtainable or in my collection already?".

A voyager edition in current Generations probably would qualify as a "no" to the first question if they tried to out-do the original Prime editions. This would unequivocally require a leader class figure in the realm of Galvatron.

So, the follow up question: and the answer is, yes, it's obtainable for a reasonable price (and exists in my collection already).

So, the reasonable thing to conclude is:

Legacy Bulkhead wouldn't have given us the Bulkhead we would have wanted anyway. So, a G1-ified version is at least a nice change of pace. And if you can't stand this edition and want the original aesthetic, that is readily available for fans on Ebay for what a leader class Bulkhead would have required in cost anyway.

Bulkhead being changed dramatically does give me hope that with G2 Road Rocket coming to Walmart that Prime Arcee will have a much more G2 silhouette with the wheels off the shoulders....and I'll be much more tempted to buy her since my Prime one looks just fine in the collection...
