    Ew, no thank you!
Well, now, I was thinking of picking up a (hopefully) clearance Wingfinger to EEeeeeVIL-ise with a black dye-dipping but you make an excellent case for going bone white to match with Ractonite!
The Preds were where it was at in Beast Hunters design-wise IMHO!
As m'learned colleague asserts they're pretty much scaled to CHUG Legends, especially latter Prime Trilogy Legends.
MFT sorta bifurcated into Lost Planet (Purely NuDiaclone KOs/extrapolations, and now some more original craziness like the "SPACE" gear), and the MS you have there, Mechanic/Mech Soul (TF Legends & Legend+s)
Is it the gagillion wheels, including the very redundant ones that are there just to mimic his OG Prime upper back wheels, that was very much an "Oh, dear" from me. It's pretty clear how he'll end up a TFP Prime, innit?
Not sure it's a "No" from me though, there's a wee niggling notion of appeal at the thought that it's very much the sort of box he would've ended up if he were a G1 toy updated to the modern aesthetic? It's there, niggling. Also: Mace Fist. Needs Moar Guns besides that apparently gatling peashooter there!
I love pretty much everything about Skidsbox, even though he's leaning so 'toon-etic, bar the weapon loadout but I'm sure Matrix Workshop or someone else will rectify his janky guns - the transclearant weapons though, eh? Sure seems like an indication that the "Energon Monster" could be a return of the Energon Terrorcons with their assemblable energon weapons, yeah?

Based on the 5mm ports he’s not looking really very big, I think he’s going to be around the current Grapple/Inferno size. Those ports on his forearms help with scale, and he’s not especially big. He might have presence, but yeah I’d have preferred something Doubledealer sized just for the heft

That Bulkhead reveal is interesting, I don't not like it but it is surprising quite how far he is from his Animated and Prime iterations. Definitely closer to G1 does Bayverse.

Skids does look the part - mostly - but it looks like there's the same issues with recent figures (clear windows showing too much, hollow janky legs), so hopefully he's not a pain to transform and pose.

Also why not save both reveals til tomorrow?

The name Skids always makes me think of the 2 Andy's from "Hot Fuzz"....."Now who's being childish?" :D

The figure is a lot more original G1 than IDW so it's different enough from the last one, but the LG version of IDW Skids was one of the last figures to get a better paintjob from Takara so I'm more attached to it even with the feet related balance issues.

I think Bulkhead is a nice interpretation of a real world version and he doesn't appear to have been attacked by the bean counter and his plastic gouging device as severely as many main line toys. I just don't think the headsculpt quite hits the mark.

We are all sleeping on the most important detail: Bulkhead has minicon ports.

Hasbro "seed" reveals across the leading nerd clickbait sites in a bit of your common-or-garden search engine optimisation to get Pulsecon trending with clicks, they want as many eyeballs as possible to tantalise with toys.

Somehow my first though when looking at Bulkhead was this could be a redeco into Thunderclash.
I’ve only seen season 1 of Prime and Bulkhead was cool so I’m actually okay with this as it will sit alongside any other stuff easier. He’ll go nicely next to Wheeljack.
Skids looks nice and isn’t based on the Jeep gut from the Jurassic Park set. Not sure what the deal is with that energy axe/gun thing.

Ok. I already know I'm not going to like the Energon weapon thing. And bulkhead is clearly a pre-tool of something. But I dig him. Yup, he's a departure from previous looks, but that's what generations should be imo.

    Sold.

Skids. That's a meh from me.

Pretty much confirmed to be a TF Prime-homage Prime, I suspect a Beast Hunter-y truck from that layout rather than the long nose.

God damn it I’m trying to save money again! Here you are being offensively reasonably priced!

Bulkhead, what have they done to you? Why have they cut off your head and attached you to the front of a bendy bus?

    Hope the gif works…

    Black Series Exclusives,

I'll be getting Trapper Wolf for the Mandalorian shelf and Dave Filoni is also way more responsible for my reconnecting with the galaxy far, far, away than George Lucas.

I really like the Cantina Showdown set, they finally got Walrus Man's massive head right and Dr Evazan looks great as well, even Obi-Wan looks alright and the Cantina bar sections have all kinds of display possibilities. Very conflicted on the set as I really like it but have got so much stuff already on order.

No intrest in Palpatine because Hasbro utilise soft goods in the cheapest way possible and they never, ever look good.

I actually really like bulkbelly, rather have it in decepticon colours though, so I'll wait for the inevitable selects retool

Hurm, stick some AA guns on the back, and a new head - that'd do for a Strika!

Typed too soon about travel issues, they just announced my final train (delayed for an hour after many cancellations) can’t grip the tracks to get any traction. So we have all had to pile out in the pouring rain while they might find road transport, which they have not found any of in the prior 10 hours….

I see a lot of conflicting views on the reveals, esp in the main thread.

My thoughts are Tansformers Animated and Prime Voyager Bulkhead figures are nigh on perfect versions representing their respective anime models anyway.

They were new enough to take advantage of the modern era engineering (ie UT Energon & beyond).

It wouldn't make sense to redesign these so given we have had Hades Megatron etc, I suspect reissues of Prime voyager Prime, Bulkhead etc etc etc en route.

Re-imagining Bulkhead makes good sense. Influenced by but not the same.

You can definitely see potential remolds from Skids and Bulkhead though.

Neither are for me though. I was never a fan of skids as a character or toy. I never got into Prime so not fussed by that genre either.
