Chest size looks fine next to the likes of MP Sideswipe and the Datsuns but does look large next to the faux chest on Sunstreaker. To be fair I consider this a fault on Sunstreakers part as I hate fake parts and have no problem with large car parts making up the bot mode (a la the G1 toys and Binaltech line which I was completely fine with).

I was just thinking about the Binaltech line...damn that had some great figures in it! That's the line that got me back into the hobby.

I got my TnR Jazz....had to return it to the seller. I saw in the pics that the rear of the car was separated down the center line. I assumed it was just mistransformed...I was wrong and really wrong. The left leg was missassembled. And I'm almost certain that the seller knew it and tried to sell it anyway. I really loved the alt mode Sooo, I'll be looking to find one from another source.

Sorry to hear about your TnR Jazz problem. I've bought from this site: https://robotoybase.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=4898&search=hova
I wasn't able to get the site to work with my PayPal account, but I just put a cart together of the stuff I want to purchase and email a PDF of the page to the guy (Tony). He sends an invoice to my PayPal account, and I pay from there. Works pretty well. I've bought a lot of stuff from Robotoybase over the past few years.

Was going to buy an old-stock Zeta Jazzy, but all my ebay sellers flaked out until there were none left available to purchase. Will give TnR a shot as an alternative & hope for the best.

Well, I've searched this thread for "screw" because my new Agent Meister is missing a screw holding on the right foot. And both feet have an issue that the steel pin running through doesn't seem long enough and both feet have fallen off. I'm having terrible problems linking photos, but trust me that it is frustrating trying the first transformation when step 2 fails so spectacularly.
I can't find any other reports of this particular problem. Miss-assembled issues, but not missing screws in just the feet. I've e-mailed the e-Bay seller so hopefully I get some positive results.
Got to remember to transform all these bots at least once before the PayPal dispute window closes and before I give sellers a positive review. Gives them incentive to try and please me before I give them a negative review and open a PayPal dispute.

This figure is so close to perfection

But it feels like the designers gave up on the shoulders

This is the first I've heard of that issue. Do you know if it's similar to the types of screws that seem to be nearly universally used in these figures... like for example the screw in FT Sovereign's head is the same screw used in TE-01's head... which I believe is the same as the screws used in the Has/Tak Datsun-bots arms, and KFC's leg assembly.

If it is, that might be a good place to start. Perhaps you can bring one of those to a local hardware store to see if they can match it.

And now a little homage to all the carbots with car doors for wings.

Well, I pushed the feet back together this morning. The straight steel pins still don't seem long enough, but it's holding together now. And with a little manual support was able to get Jazz fully transformed.
I'll see what the Chinese e-Bay seller may be able to do about a missing screw, but in the end it doesn't seem like the end of the world. After admiring Jazz all day on my desk, he's really a good looking figure in robot mode.

So, I heard a rumor that I think is just that, a rumor.

I've researched, briefly.. I didn't deep dive but found nothing... And what I heard was that this was the original Takara design for the MP Jazz that was abandoned. There was a prototype shot of their attempt, of which the best reference I have is teeth a video that the lazy eye brow reviewer posted years ago.

Is there any truth to this, or is it just some BS I came across?

    I think just BS.
Because I know for sure this TR version was designed by some Chinese team.

Still the best Jazz on the market imho - though not without its flaws. Wonder if there are any mould improvements with the re-release?

And... Because I know at least a couple of you will be thinking it... I wonder if it's being rushed out because there are rumblings regarding an official MP Jazz (if FT fast-track their Jazz I'd say that's more of a possibility).

Although I already have HOVA, this makes me happy. He doesn't get as much respect as I think he deserves as being the MP Jazz that is the closest to the original Hasui style designs IMO. I only wish his shoulder mechanism wasn't so odd and not intuitive. It's worth the trade off for that Toy-etic look.

At $60, this is kinda tempting. I've got Maketoys already, though, and this guy doesn't fit the mp aesthetic well enough to replace him so, if I did get him, he'd be a standalone. I like that he has so many cues from the toy but it's a little disappointing that they didn't go all the way - no chrome (or at least silver) and no rocket launcher. Hm... decisions decisions.

Screw it. Threw down the $1 deposit. Now to ponder whether I actually want him or not. If I do, I'll have to adapt my 3d printed rocket launcher to fit him. And paint his shins and abdomen silver (I've given up on trying to chrome figures).
