I finally got around to Toyhax-ing the maw. I feel like some things are a little TOO BUSY, but overall, love what this adds to it. I highly recommend it even if you’re going to pick and choose certain stickers.

I did the same but I left out the "lettered" ring and the stickers for the outer teeth. I also thought those would be too busy. I think it looks great up close and at a distance. It definitely adds depth. The silver inner teeth were a must.

This thread kills me. Wanted this Unicron the second I saw the campaign announced but wasn't able to take part in the crowdfunding and now the secondary market pricing on this thing is just stupid. Probably never going to get one of these

While I think it would foolish of them to attempt him as another HasLab campaign, I wonder if the new Metroplex opens up the possibility of the Titan Primus a year or two down the road.

Get rid of the lights, sounds and spring loaded gimmicks. Just make a good transformer the same height as all the other titans that looks good in two modes.

If they manage to keep the price lower than Unicron, let's say $400 at most, I think there is a chance Primus might be an Haslab project. Either way, be it an Haslab or a regular titan, I certainly won't say no to a giant transforming planet Cybertron to be put against Unicron, even if it's not G1 canonical.

I don’t see there ever being a market for a Primus figure (especially the same size as Unicron).

Just in terms of space I’m out, regardless of price. Unicron took up the last bit of space I had for something that large.

Not 100% sure where others are at, but I just don’t see it having the same draw.

I would honestly be more interested in a cybertron that didn’t transform, but opened up to reveal details from the cartoon—vector sigma plus some of the other tunnels and rooms seen in some of the episodes.

if they did primus, i think it would be smaller, prob closer to titan omega in height, we know the crowd funding thing isnt limited by size anymore thanks to star saber.

Unicron didn't do very well compared to nearly every other haslab, wouldn't be surprised if Primus is shelved for good.

Isn't it the only project that had it's deadline extended?

Yes. In its defense it was an earlier haslab project. They were (and still are) trying to tweak the optimum funding strategies. There was little advance notice, less aggressive “affiliate dumps”, and no “stretch goals”. If it had been done today I’m not sure if it would necessarily have done better, but there would probably have been less anxiety over it being funded and it probably would have done so in the original time period

then again a $500 sail barge from even earlier that wasn't in the movie that long didn't have any problems

Thats probably why they felt they could bust out a $600 transformer on minimal notice. Now they have probably modified their assumptions. Basic learning curve. Either way, Haslab has been an excellent opportunity both for fans to get product that might otherwise never see the light of day and for Hasbro to get good market research at much less risk than a mass release product. I for one, am obviously glad they decided to extend the deadline. I don’t see any other way I would have ever gotten the unicron from my childhood at this scale.

Just go the Studio Cell route. Smaller, no backpack, looks nice, and cheaper. Yeah he’s only 18 inches tall, but that just means you have more options to store him!
