Might as well when HasTak is half-assing it. The G1 MP fandom have been waiting for a long time and have been largely ignored.

 

The previous person isn't saying this set is for CHUG. Just that if you put it with CHUG figures, it looks massive.

 

if moonstudios is zeta, wonder if they will make legends raiden. some figures i like them only enough to keep em in legends size

 

We do not actually have 100% full confirmation, but it 99.999% seems like the hips are made from the middle character Kaen. If he doesn't make up the hips, I have no idea where you'd put Kaen. Beyond that, all of the 6 members have been listed at the same price and are of similar size, so there's no indication of you having to buy a pants-slab with one of them.

 

Actually they aren't a similar size in alt mode, his train mode looks twice as long as the rest with either end showing the combined mode thigh detailing:



Then look at Kaen's lower legs in robot mode. There's not a chance in hell that each leg is as thick as the entire train below it when combined. He would look massive/bloated next to his team individually if that was the case.

Evidence of that mass difference suggests this is a pantsformer and Kaen has detailing to look like he should form the thighs.




Edit - Or....hes the crotch and the extra bit of train either side are the thighs? Either way I don't think this is gonna combine how ppl are expecting it to.

Looking again at the train pic he's literally just the centre part. You can see his torso hanging off the side, his arms folded up above as the upper roof section and thighs folded up either side of the torso before it goes onto the combiner thighs. Maybe his backpack is the folded up combiner hip skirt.

It's intriguing.

 

Agreed, I've always though there was no way 1 bot could become the thighs, hips, and possibly mid-section with the legs being this thick.


Don't know why there were so many people constantly telling me this guy will be different, but I still doubt he won't be a pantsformer.

 

His alt mode being twice the size of the rest with blatent combined mode thighs that are bigger than his torso either end is all the proof we need bud.

He might not be a pantsformer in a strict sense like Superion etc, but there's fake parts there 100%.

 

No fake parts or pants, idk where you guys keep getting this. He’s a larger member than everyone else on the team. His legs are massive compared to his teammates and the train reflects that.


To add to that, you can blatantly see the engineering from his leg. Hinges in the same exact spot, and tabs in the same exact spot.

 

It is easier to see on the prototypes. I've tried reporting the post to get the pics added to the first post but failed (same with the arm prototypes), but here they are again below. You can see the front of the combined mode thigh is a piece that rotates and you can also see it on Kaen's legs. If it was a separate piece for the thighs there would be no need for the front to rotate.

Also looking closely at the details on the panels behind Kaen's head in bot mode they appear to be the panels that fill in Raiden's stomach, though I feel that was easier to see on the line art TigerBlade included in his post I've quoted. NOTE: the panels are positioned differently in the line art and the prototypes, but I can see them as the center of the stomach on both.

The chest shield is the only part (besides the ankle and "wing" guns) which I can't identify a place in the individuals where it might be.

While I'm at it here are the arm figure prototype pictures as well.

Working at nearly the same time there, but you got in there first. I think that maybe one or even both may not have seen the prototype pics since they are missing from the first post (or just forgotten them), and I don't believe have been reshared recently (until now). It is harder to see on just the line art than on the prototypes.

 

Never seen those before, very cool! If I'm wrong I'll hold my hands up but I'm struggling to see just Kaen's lower legs also being combiner thighs from a pure size point alone.

It also doesn't account for the size difference in alt mode. Looking forward to seeing it unfold tho  

Edit - I think the platform Kaen appears to be resting on in alt mode might be something to do with Raiden's hip skirts too?

 

In my above post I circled a few things that are identical to the legs on him that I think should help convince ya of them being the thighs.

 

TW Constructor made pants forming cool. It helped the aesthetics and stability of the figure. And to be honest that figure needed it, just looking at Hasbro's devy and they were forced to completely sacrifice long Haul to make their devastator work.

But Raiden, at least on the surface, doesn't have this problem. The renders look good and neither the Waist bot or the combine mode seem to suffer. The only remain question is stability. Adding pants might have made the waist bot suffer but if it is needed for stability I say bring it on. But if not, then you won't catch me complaining about a perfect transformation.

 

What platform? Do you mean the railroad pieces?

 

He means the underpanel thing under his train mode. I noticed it a while back.

Yeah. The bot doesn’t match the length of the alt mode. I wouldn’t doubt if a part detaches or something. If they pull it off without it’ll be interesting.

 

Looks like the combiner hipskirt is at least partially inside Kaen’s robot mode chest
