I've fallen into the camp of people who would get disappointed after every event for a while.

It's taken me a while but I have come to realize that Bayverse just isn't the money maker that it used to be.

Hasbro is focusing on pure nostalgia for its marketing and future lines and we see that in Legacy and Studio Series now with 1986 stuff and Bumblebee figures. It's not to be cynical but it's just understanding that Hasbro is focusing on continuities and characters that have more fan appeal. I'll be shocked if we see anything movie related at this upcoming Pulse con event. It's sad to say but Bayverse had its run.

 

i really hate how by separating ss from ss86 at those events and not bothering showing the normal ss (the movies the line was created for) theyre basically saying only the 86 fans matter with these events

like hate to break it to you hasbro but there are some people that don't worship a terrible 80s movie

 

I agree do they think that’s all people get excited for? I mean let’s remember SS is a line that went 3 years without any kind of G1 in it

 

I mean, we have the listings for next year and we won't see Bayverse until wave 3 IIRC (though we'll be seeing BB before then), so we can get a general timeline for when we can expect to see things - not for quite a while.

Also, given the track record of this year, we'll have in-hand pictures of the figures (and maybe even have them in stores) before Hasbro says anything about them.

Side note, my parents found a fairly cheap KSI Sentry at a flea market the other day, so I'll be checking that out around Christmas! No idea what I'd do with it paint-wise, I'll have to think about it.

 

In any case @Shmoptimus Prime, your most recent picture really got me thinking about trying to find a way to get rotf Sideswipe and finish the year. Being the only new figure of the last wave for the year may be a little tough for me to find.

 

I wouldn’t worry too much about it. I’ve seen Sideswipe just as much as his wave mates, if not more so. I’m assuming it’s cause people already got the DOTM variant, so they’re filled up on ‘Swipes. I’d wager they’ll be around until the Christmas season.

 

Technically, as far as Hasbro is concerned, he doesn't exist yet!

Still hard to believe these two share any engineering. I've never transformed him, and probably never will, but its amazing how far a retool can go.

 

@Lazerwave is in Canada though so it might be harder for him. I wish him luck! It's a nice figure. I may get rid of my dotm one, even though I painted and modded it.

Yeah he hasn't hit Canada yet. We're usually a month to two behind the US with new figures.

 

I remember Tomahawk! I loved that figure when I was a kid. I have a funny story about him. My parents bought him as an intended birthday gift, but being the nosey kid I was, I was digging through their stuff like a week before my birthday and found him tucked away unopened in my dad's dresser drawer. I immediate grabbed it and ran to them excitedly asking where it came from, needless to say they weren't happy with me lmao. They told me it was for me but I wasn't allowed to open it till my birthday

Technically, he doesn't even have an official release date, considering he hasn't yet been officially revealed
