Front page image: Original view of side backpack (gosh I've always hated that backpack sticking so far out.) The battery compartment has always made this figure impossible to balance so time to remove it Unscrewed the torso. Removed the batteries
More pics. After removing the electronics, which was very easy by just pulling it out with some pliers, I cut off the giant block of plastic that housed the batteries and electronics.
After cutting the backpack panel to work on making a flatter cape, I have to split the red panels in half so it can resemble two larger cape halves Cutting the panel was easy with a saw but the hard part was the long steel pins holding the rest of the panels in place. There was a long central pin connecting the gray cape panels to the red panel and there's also the firetruck ladder hose in the center that has to be removed and later reworked into the vehicle mode by some other means I tried removing the long steel pin but it was too much trouble even with a hammer and pin puncher so I'll just settle for roughly cutting pit the plastic around it. It will look messy but I'll cover up the uneven cuts with some styrene afterwards.
Yes forgot to mention. I am going to keep it a transformable custom. I will install double ball joints for the cape/backpack panels so they can swivel into its place for vehicle mode.
Great work. will you make something with the long red parts on his shoulders, and the Skirt things what he has?
