so, had my rhinox for a while, so brief 3am comparison/review. IMHO, gen rhinox looked better, rhinox is meant to be a big bulky heavily armed character, and thats what that figure does best, but it also has issues with joints and tolerances, meaning he has trouble standing up and feels clunky, (i remember the arms never feeling like they locked in on mine) and has soft plastic which might melt over time. kingdom on the other hand, looks like a younger rhinox for some reason, hes a bit flatter, the shade of green is off (c'mon netflix repaint!) and the guns are def too small, but hes fine when it comes to standing, posing and transformation is easy once youve done it a few times. i think gen rhinox looks better, but kingdom is better for handling. kingdom rhinox feels like an odd step sideways, but is still a good figure. all he needs is a new shade of green, new head and hed be near perfect. 7.5/10. side note, i really wish third parties would get their thumbs out and start doing proper upgrades for normal figures again.

After hearing all the horror stories of his transformation I was expecting Rhinox to be a total nightmare, so I'm pleased to say I didn't find him that bad. A little frustrating at points, but nothing awful, nothing ROTF Prime or Mixmaster-level. At some point mid-transformation I gave up on the instructions and just followed my instincts and he came together fairly easily.

Plusses are a stable, hefty robot mode, good proportions, good articulation esp. the butterfly joints, and nicely painted weapons. Also a plus is a complex transformation if you like that kind of thing. Minuses are a lot of hollowness on the back, a derpy rhino mode (though I find it oddly charming?), a frustrating transformation, and most dire of all in my opinion, a total lack of sculpt or paint along the top of the head, shoulders, and back of the rhino, which shows up most noticeably on his robot shins. Why they couldn't add sculpt here is beyond baffling; there's nothing to suggest it would have been impossible, they just...didn't. And it looks cheap and awful. It's probably my biggest gripe with him in the wake of an initial handling and transformation. Basically he's a cool robot with an inexplicable retrograde toyetic rhino alt mode.

Still, with good heft and playability, he's a worthy purchase if you don't have the T30 version, and maybe even if you do.

Thie transformation of this figure is nowhere even close to the negative tidal wave of reviews it has received.

Along the same lines of Warpath....just know what goes where.

Even better, (as I've posted a few times now)
THIS video is what you need...it's perfection and illustrates how the legs work better than anything I've seen so far.

Once you understand them in one direction, the reverse is easy.

Please all Rhinox owners, watch it.

My copy of this figure has a very loose hinge at the left shoulder, he basically can't lift his arm straight out without it collapsing back down. Does anyone know what I can do about it? Does the floor polish trick work on pin joints? Other than that QC issue and the tiny guns I actually like this fig a lot

Yes (based on other posts) anything like that or KiKi that gets around the pin will work.

Finally got my copy of Rhinox tonight. Haven't had much time to really mess with him, but initial impression is that I really like him. The robot legs / rhino back end were a nightmare to transform, but I'm really impressed with how well they come together. I love how bulky this guy is, which is something the old Generations mold was definitely lacking. I can't decide which mold I like better though, as each has their pros and cons. Generations definitely had a more enjoyable transformation, and I appreciated the size of it's weapons, as well as the more accurate head sculpt and realistic beast mode. Kingdom is a lot more fun to pose in robot mode, and I again just love how much bulk he has. Also much more prefer the paint scheme of Kingdom over Generations. Unless you're a completionist for Kingdom, this guy doesn't really warrant a purchase if you already have the Generations mold. Likewise, I don't think Generations is worth getting if you already have this mold. As for me though, I'm really glad to have this guy among my Kingdom lineup, and am glad to have nearly all of the OG maximals reunited in this line. Okay, seeing them side-by-side, Kingdom's headsculpt is kinda terrible compared to T30.

Personally I don't think kingdom Rhinox deserves all the hate and negativity. Maybe it's because I don't have the T30 one. Overall I feel that he's a solid figure. Great articulation and proportions, the skin texture is nice too. I do feel that the paint is definitely off with the green and headsculpt is a downgrade. Rhino mode is okay. Nothing special but gets the job done. Transformation can be scary to do but after watching reviews it definitely helps for quite an enjoyable experience. Weapons could definitely have been bigger but I understand the compromise for storage.
As a whole, kingdom rhinox is a solid figure to get. Its all up to personal preference for this guy. If you have T30 and satisfied with him, then this guy would be a pass. If you don't, like me, then it's worth a shot. Accuracy isn't a deal breaker to me but playability and fun factor is and I'm pretty happy with this figure. If only both versions of Rhinox can be merged with their good points into the perfect one

I have to eat a rhinoceros-sized crow today. Rhinox is my favorite Transformers character so maybe I was a little more critical of the Kingdom figure. Ever since the Kingdom Rhinox was shown I have bad-mouthed it, calling it hideous, that the colors don't look right, that the robot mode head is off, the shoulders are funky and the chain guns of doom are too small. I continually insulted this character for months claiming that the Thrilling 30 figure is superior. Well, I do stand by a few of the points I've made before having the figure in hand I've changed my mind a lot. Both figures still have their pros and cons but do I still think the T30 figure is better compared to the Kingdom figure, Let's find out.

    Beast Mode:
Something that I feel is important to point out right at the start is that these two figures are based on two different rhinos. The T30 figure is based on a black rhino and the Kingdom figure is based on a white rhino. I feel that this is an important distinction because well both figures are trying to appear more organic and less cartoon than the original show they are both accurate to real-life rhinos but they are both going for different types of rhinos. The T30 figure has a more rounded appearance higher shoulders and hips and a more upward facing head, well the Kingdom figure has a falter back, a more squared-off appearance, and a downward-facing head. Overall though the Kingdom figure just has a better heft and weight to him. He feels better in my hands and the skin texture has a nice feel to it. Well, the T30 figure texturing isn't as deep and feels more smooth a plastic. Also, the rhino head on the T30 looks ugly and always looked a little off to me. The Kingdom figure looks better and more inquisitive than the T30 figure who looks dumb. Also, I painted the Kingdom figure's eyes black so he doesn't have the “Dark Designs” evil Rhinox eyes and painted the green areas of his shoulders grey with a Gundam marker and well not a perfect color match they do blend in better than they did before.

So not only does the Kingdom figure have better weight, texture, and appearance compared to the T30 figure it is also more poseable. He can do the rhino yoga pose from “Dark Voyage” pretty convincingly so with the rhino mode I have to give it to the Kingdom figure.
    bothbeastmodes2.jpg KingdomRhinohead.jpg Kingdomrhinoxbeatmode.jpg T30Rhinohead.jpg T30Rhinoxbeastmode.jpg yogarhino1.jpg

    Transformation:
The Thrilling 30 figure wins this one, the transformation is more straightforward and has a better flow to it. The hardest part is figuring out the right orientation for the chain guns of doom. Transforming the Kingdom figure's legs is a bit of a chore. I've done it enough by this point that I have it figured out it is still a bit of a hassle. However, unfolding the fake rhino jaw to form the chest is very satisfying.

    Robot Mode:
The Kingdom figure has always looked a little off compared to the show model it is still recognizably Rhinox but looks more like he looked in the Kingdom Netflix show than the original Beast Wars cartoon. However, the larger jaw on his chest and his better articulation make up for a lot. Well, the in and out shoulders are just on a hinge that doesn't look the best the butterfly joints on the shoulders allow hiding the funkiness of the hinge joints when posing. The reason he looks a little off is that the Kingdom figure is more based on the Earth Wars game model for Rhinox, which was based on his T30 figure, which was based on his old show model. So it's kind of like a copy of a copy of a copy, as the fourth clone in the movie “Multiplicity” if anyone remembers that one.

The T30 looks more like the original cartoon but lacks a lot of the articulation that the new figure has. Also, the side panels that fill out his chest don't lock in anywhere so it is very easy to knock them out of place. I find myself continually adjusting little things about the figure that either is moved out of place or has to be moved to keep him standing. So purely in the looks department, T30 looks better compared to the Kingdom figure, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder and looks aren't everything. So they each have their trade-offs but I think with these two figures you have to talk about the build quality before you come to a final decision on the robot mode.
    kingdomrobot3.jpg t30robotmode.jpg bothrobot.jpg bothrobotmodes.jpg

    Build Quality:
One of the most notorious elements about the T30 Rhinox is its build quality. From his loose knees and hips, the soft plastic in some areas, and the thinner hard plastic used. Well, most of this has held up over time there is still a very distinct floppiness to the figure. I still have to every-so-often apply more clear nail polish to the back of his knees to keep them stiff. Also, well mine has better hips than some copies of the figure one can still give out and he can fall over. I have to pose him in a He-Manesq squatting pose to keep him balanced. Also, you can't keep his weapons stored on his back because that makes him top heavy and he falls over. His guns almost have to be used as a counter-balance to keep him from falling over. Also, the wrists on mine are loose and floppy and are only made worse when the guns are in his hands because then they just wiggle all over the place. Basically what this all comes down to is that the T30 Rhinox figure is a floppy mess and at times feels like a house of cards about to fall over.

This is where the Kingdom figure shines. He is a tough, solid, chunky boy and you can feel it. There is nothing floppy about him and he holds his poses well. I can get him into a pose and he'll hold it without needing to be adjusted to keep him balanced. The extra joints make him a joy to pose too. Since his joints are so solid and his overall build quality is so much better he is a more characterful, dynamic, and enjoyable action figure. Even if he looks a little off from the Beast Wars.

    Weapons:
Real quick before I wrap this up I have to talk about Rhinox's iconic spinning chain guns of doom. This has to go to the T30 figure since they are larger and have the spinning gimmick. I did paint mine to look more like the Takara version normally they are a flat tan color. However, because of how the hands are sculpted they can't be held very well. They are lost in his hands and can flop around a little. Well the Kingdom Rhinox's are smaller and look like pizza cutters they at least feel more solid in his hands and well they are small don't look too terrible, but it is still a downside to the figure.

    Overall:
Like I said at the start both figures have trade-offs. Well, the T30 figure looks better and has better weapons they lose the floppy nature of the figure somewhat questionable build quality in some places takes away a lot of the enjoyment of it being an action figure. Well, the Kingdom figure misses the mark in terms of aesthetics he has his charm and personality and is still unmistakably Rhinox. He even has a tighter grip on the T30 figure's chain guns. Honestly, I can't believe I'm saying this but I prefer the Kingdom figure and he's going to replace the T30 figure on myself, holding the T30 figures guns. I'll still keep the T30 figure but because of his better build quality and buttery articulation, the Kingdom figure wins.

I was content with this Rhinox until I saw pics of the T30's head sculpt. Holy Primus that's spot on. The Kingdom head looks a bit lifeless in comparison. I know they won't remold the Kingdom head, but how about a Netflix redeco with that nice rich T30 green and T30 orange/gold on the head detail? Otherwise I prefer the proportions of the Kingdom. Looks more show accurate. Think I prefer the Kingdom rhino mode too even though it's more spud-like.

Still trying to get a handle on that leg transformation. You have to do it in a certain sequence, and if it's not just right, which it isn't obviously clear when it is, you don't have clearance. That is the big flaw of this figure.

The little chain guns are disappointing, BUT they did it the right way if they were going to limit the plastic and part content on them. They kept the front face the right size, so from most angles you won't notice how small(or empty) the ammo boxes behind are.

Overall decent addition to the Kingdom BW crew.

Don't know if it's been posted on this form yet but it's extremely easy to flip the lower jaw around in robot mode and it vastly improves the look in my opinion, PXL_20211213_172718689.jpg

I do this every time now. Really does make it look better. I imagine an eventual masterpiece will have this built right in with a swivel joint as Rhinox would NEED a faux chest to be animation accurate given the weird proportions. An elegant solution if you ask me.

The alt mode comparisons do give off the idea that they went with a different species of rhino for the Kingdom version. Would like to see this reused as a different character like Cybertron Backstop or the McDonald’s toy to rep the black rhino mode.

Finally got my Rhinox after months of having it on order while I waited for the store to fill the other back-ordered parts of my haul (Waspinator mostly, but also Galvatron).

Having it in hand, I agree that the head is kind of a disappointment, definitely looking like it went for more of a reinvented look than the adhering to the smoother BW cartoon design (I think it's the sharp angled cheekbones that really throw me off) it's decent enough for me considering I don't have the Thrilling 30 iteration. He looks suitably big and chunky in bot mode to, which is nice. I wish the inside of the rhino mouth had teeth in the upper portion so you could replicate his animation design because I don't want to flip the lower jaw around all the time.

The dual chainguns are nice but I wish there was more mass to their bodies, like actual boxy bits that look like housing for all the gun components instead of just blades on sticks with an L-bracket. I get it was done this way to be able to use them as a brace for the beast mode's pelvis area, but it's kind of sad having him in a side view and seeing there's no bulk to the guns at all.

That transformation though. Getting everything swung around and fitted in the right order and not forcing all the shifting and hinging plates into place in a way that might dislodge or break them feels like a super high stress operation.Even with an instruction video I struggled because I could not get the leg to rotate at one point the way the instructions showed because mine had caught their edge on one of the other rhino-hide panels and was obstructed. Took forever to get that back into proper position.

I probably won't be transforming him much, but I'm happy to have a decent Rhinox at a not-ridiculous secondary market price. Now I just need to find a Tigatron and I'll be caught up on BW characters released to this point.

    Looking good.

But I'm confused at what that insert piece is in his upper jaw? An add on?
