Comparing GT to MMC and XTB is kind of an apples and oranges thing. GT's looks great, but they went with an IDW-ish take on the Protectobots with stylized robots and modern alt modes. It'll look good with their Devastator and Menasor, so I'll finish the set, but it really doesn't scratch the G1 MP itch.

Now, between XTB and MMC? I expect XTB will look better as five cartoon-accurate robots or one cartoon-accurate Defensor, but it'll also be a nightmare to transform. MMC's will be mostly cartoon, with some elements of the G1 toys, and some concessions to the all built in gimmick, but for the most part I expect the figures to be solid and fun to mess around with. So I'm going MMC.

 

Speaking of FA @LazyAza , when can we expect some more info on release date, package art by Chogoking and other news etc?

 

MMC's Defensor is a major priority so we should have something to show of him in the coming months I'd expect. I haven't seen any prototypes yet myself though. MMC might hold off and wait until he's a colored plastic test before updating though they tend to be much more hesitant to show resin protos these days.

Oh very nice indeed MMC!! Can we assume the 3rd combiner will be Decepticon? Kinda looks like the Protectobots did a warm up on Assaultus but the main act is still to come.. The way the animation plays out doesn't seem to suggest its another Autobot combiner stopping by to congratulate Maximas Pro. Or maybe I'm overthinking things again.

Also, once upon a time, MMC once had different plans for a Liokaiser: Mech IDeas Pestilence (not Liokaiser)

 

I'd want it to be Predaking, but MMC already did that, so he's out. The Stunticon market has been done to death, so you'd assume Menasor's out. That leaves Devy, Abominus (not really their style) or ... Trypticon?

My guess is Devy.

 

As long as it's not another Menasor   I'd hope for someone like Computron, but yeah I could see Liokaiser. Keep flipping Con-Bot-Con.
