Blue chest? On Marvel comics? Maybe on a strip, why not, it's Marvel after all, so no colour consistency at all, but... I wouldn't call that a comic book version.

Nice nonetheless, it's a great toy and the slight colour variation works well enough. But it just looks like a random repaint, seeker style.

 

Generally it looked more silver or reflective, but there were times it looked blue.

 

Dang.. Newage, always making regret getting the previous deco.

What's with the transparent laser under his left arm? it's a thing from the comics?

 

the interpretation on colours, again like with marvel OP, doesn't quite work as well for me as they had accomplished on megatron. think they did go too heavy a blue on the chest, and should have stuck to a mostly silver with a much lighter tint of blue.

looks like i won't be going all in to collect these marvel versions and i'll just settle with being happy with the one off marvel megatron. also i already have two versions of NA shockwave, which i painted over the light pipe eye, and that suffices and gives my wallet a much needed break.

It seems like if they'd gone with a more light, silvery blue, that might have nailed the homage better. As is, looking at him doesn't give me the "Oh crap, I didn't know I desperately needed this, but I desperately need this" nostalgia hit that their comic version of Megs did.

...But I'm still gonna get this. That comic book Megs was my first Legends Scale fig, and it was sufficiently awesome that I think I'm just gonna buy every Marvel homage NewAge puts out and let that be my Legends Scale collection.

 

Off all the comic version the first Megatron, in my opinion, was the best. I bought rhe regular release Newage did and like the figure but the shinny gloss makes it less comicy. Skipped the Optimus because the blue color of the legs was to way off. With this Shockwave, I think it's a good looking figure but would have never guesed it was the comic version, so also a skip.

Till they do the Megatron/Ratchet monstrosity

 

That should be the next Build-A-Character after Autobot Spike, I love the Ratchet Megs combo!
