I really wanted that variant for a custom, but there is no way I'm rolling the dice and getting a bunch of figures I don't want just for a slight chance to get one I do.

Speaking of rolling the dice, against my better judgement I picked up a special edition Hiya Alien from GameStop. Came carded in a nice collector box.
The figure didn't break as soon as I moved it, so that was a pleasant surprise. The hips are a bit loose, but at least it stands.

I did get a second order in from Maurauder Inc. I ordered parts to make me a medical team. I needed a medical staff for my starbase... Photo_1630716680677.jpg

Finally got a chance to put the Fear IV together. Definitely a nice improvement over the Fear II when assembling it. Most of it is just strapped on with velcro. I also redid the look of the Fear II by removing some strands, buckles and bags. Transferred some of the carry bags to the Sniper. Looks good overall to me. LOL

Didn't think it could balance well on one foot, but it actually does. :D

And a surprisingly upright balance at that.

Update: Total garbage. This is the LAST figure from this company I ever purchase.
The stupid thing will not stand at all. The hips are so loose that, even supported, it falls. Also, the hands pop off with the slightest movement.
Yeah, Hiya is not getting another penny from me.

Well, I was going to pass on the 1/18 because a lot of my 1/25 stuff is fragile. The Titanfall vibe of these at 1/18 was so sweet it had me preorder through Entertainment Earth. EE oversold and burned me on the preorder and canceled. One preorder opened up on BBTS but they have been sitting at preorder so long that most sellers are out if stock. I was worried it's the same situation as EE. So I had to eat $100 to get it on ebay. Not a single regret. Looks like I'm all in on the 1/18 scale. 20211016_222053.jpg

This is my favorite out of the Fear mechs in all honesty. And I love the fact it fits right in with my 1/6 scale figures. The only thing I didn't like about it is is the countless mess of buckles and strands. I removed most of the buckles and strands on it as well as the sacks. It was just looking way too busy. I passed on some of the sacks to the Fear IV. I'll also repurpose the strands and buckles for my 1/6 figures. LOL

I can totally understand someone disliking the 1/6 style soft goods. They really are a PITA and require futzing. I finally have all my straps tight and nothing hanging, shoulder armor wraps tight. I have been building 1/6 figures for a bit and I'm even sewing my own gear now, so I am used to the frustration. I have lots of tools picked up over the years to make my fat fingers irrelevant, lol. Joy Toy got me with the Titanfall aspect of their 1/25 and 1/18 stuff. Titanfall 1 and 2 was my jam, when I burnt out on it I never really got into another shooter. I'm filled with infinite regret I only ever bought one ThreeZero 1/12 with the Ogre. So I am loving this stuff.

I've started some rebuilding of my Mecha Depot bases. Thinking it will be either 7 or 8 stories for now. I have more sets on the way.

For those of you who collect Joytoy items, how do like the 1:18 scale compared to their 1:25 mechs? I have one 1:25 figure, but I'm tempted by the 1:18 (despite the price).

After getting a sweet bonus from my boss (for completion of a huge software implementation), I ordered a joytoy 1:18 set, the North Snark Commando. I'll be able to provide the comparison I'd requested in fairly short order.
