Shame Go Better haven't adopted the method that Nonnef uses for rotating the spoilers out of the way of the upper leg, especially after the amazing work they did for Sunstreaker.

 

Are there any worthwhile Kingdom Dinobot upgrade parts to get? Mine's feeling kinda sad more and more.

 

Those Grimlock swords I posted about earlier are actually molded and resin casted. I was trying to clean off "print supports" and noticed it was solid black plastic. The red blade was made of clear red resin. I should've noticed that right away, which also explains the handle issues. Resin casts may shrink a little bit for a variety of reasons, and this is probably what happened to the handle becoming loose. These are from a 3d printed original, and the silicone will copy over any and all defects, including rough surface finishes.

Just waiting to pick up my stuff from storage, but anyone have these Tracks upgrade (black beam gun and rockets) if so how do they look with RTS/United Tracks please?

 

Ok, I need some advice for my “lost” Diaclone guys. I want spoilers for my Deep Cover and Tigertrack. Initially I was going to use the Nonnef ones, but realized he doesn’t do yellow for Tigertrack. So that’s out. Other than 3D printed ones on eBay, are there other good yellow ones that don’t require partsforming? Then came the issue with a shoulder launcher for Deep Cover. Has anyone done one in the midnight blue to be accurate to the original? Everything I see is black… Also planning on getting the Exhaust Nonnef set next…

For all your requirements, you would need to do custom paint work yourself.

The yellow spoiler set commonly found on eBay is by Go Better, although may affect knee movement in bot mode.

Go Better did show off a new spoiler design for their upcoming Kingdom Red Alert set, so who knows if they'll do the new spoiler version in different colors. They haven't shown a shot of behind the legs in bot mode yet, though.

@wheeljackfan16, if I can make a direct request. The community needs a duplicate of the included flight stand that connects the ships to the head's base. You know what I'm talking about? THe thing the ship is connected to (which in turn connects to the base) in this picture.



The new "Reformatting Megatron" comes with what's been termed Unicron DLC, which includes Galvatron's ship, a Quintesson ship and a Junkion ship. Oddly, it doesn't come with any more stands to plug into the Haslab Unicron base, and even more oddly, that would bring it to a total of 4 ships for a base that has space for 3 flight stands, meaning one of the stands (probably the Junkion/Quintesson one) would need to have a splitter so two ships could plug into it.

Nobody else has done anything like this (and basically nothing for Unicron in general, aside from some Mouth covers). Think you can help a community out? I'm sure it'd do very well once that Galvatron ships. If you didn't get Haslab Unicron, I'd be willing to loan you my head-base/flight stand to work off of.

 

I got them. They're painted metallic. They look better than the included Hornes, but are very prone to fingerprints.

Nonnef has made some, not sure if they're ABS but they're injected molded and not 3-D Printed.

 

Thanks. I was planning to just buy the Nonnef ones and paint them if those ones weren't great, but after seeing that the Nonnef ones need assembled I don't know how I feel about them either. I guess I could paint after assembly to try and hide the seam, or I could just repaint the eBay ones if I don't like them in hand.

 

I think the bay horns are definitely better than the Nonnef horns. All the Slag sets are. Nonnef's sword is weird. The eBay tail upgrade for Slag (that gives it a gold tip) is great to have.

IMO, get the Ebay horns, get the metallic paint off and then repaint it.

 

I have both sets. I VASTLY prefer the JRC Design spoilers. The Nonnef ones don't look very good at all in my view. They sit way too high in vehicle mode.

 

Is there a listing for just the kit from any reputable sellers? I've got the figures already as my stand-in for Rack'n'Ruin. I saw a single listing for just the kit, but don't know the seller. I'm sad TFSafari doesn't carry this one.

 

You can ask the seller if that's an option.

 

The only thing I think Nonnef did well for Slag is the new head, but I'm not looking for a toy accurate design so not for me. I see wonderfullys has a silver set of the horns, so I may not even have to repaint them if his are good.

So, any place where I can get the red tail fin for shattered glass Starscream? Can't believe it's already sold out, when the figure isn't even out yet   don't know why they offer the sets without tail fins if obviously everyone wants the one with the fins...

 

I actually really like Nonnef's solution for the sword. I dislike the solutions that are basically "lets just give the sword a really long handle so it can get over the dino toes". The Nonnef sword keeps the handle a reasonable length and still lets the sword face the correct way.
