What does PS say the diffenance in color is? And does xtb streetwise match that toon color?

Do you really? Or are you just using hyperbole to make a point? Pure gold would be horrible to handle on this figure, would add a lot of unnecessary weight, and look nothing like any interpretation of the character so far. If that's what you actually want, I'm going to dismiss your opinion completely.

If you're just trying to use hyperbole, then I will counter by saying the arm colour in the cartoon is the same as the exhaust, so they were intended to look the same. Whether the colorist used grey or grey blue is moot if you are ignoring the other parts of the figure that use the same color you are arguing about. If they change the exhaust to be the grey blue of the arms, your point is valid.

Personally I don't like the grey blue arms as I think it clashes with the rest of the colour scheme and makes them stand out for no reason, unlike the depictions in either toon or toy.

Lemme just put it this way

is it the exact color in the show? - probably not

is it worth delaying the figure’s release over? - hell no

I'd wager this is already in production, I doubt we're going to see any color changes at this point.

Now that....that is spot on. In my eyes at least. My old eyes and memory still don't see his arms as blue, even in those screen grabs posted.

This is great! Especially compared with some shots which his arm looks a bit more desaturate. But then again, there are shots that his arm is quite blue. Then it goes down to personal preference and there is nothing wrong with XTB's choice .

That’s a great look you’ve mocked up here, in my view. It’s better than the blue they’ve chosen (again, just my view). If I wasn’t now only collecting ft I’d be more interested in how this set goes. I’m glad people are getting these guys though, I really am, but I’m waiting for Fanstoys and I hope these and MMC’s help to encourage ft Protectobots along.

I do worry for you guys about xtb’s quality having owned most of their prior releases and having seen and held Fuzz in person.

Both look good for sure. It’s great they’re getting some 3P love.

I was using hyberbole a bit. Just want to let you know the arms being grey which it's not accurate at all.
TBH, when you look at the alt mode, the engine and pipe are just made out of two colors (high light in RED and BLUE), so where the blue part should be if the arm is full grey? Hence that's why the arms are blue in bot mode btw.

The arms are suppose blue grey, so is it necessary to just ask XTB to desaturate it a bit due to someone's personal preference, and we have to wait another couple months just for that?

I think it looks great, more important than colors is quality, please don't be riddled with qc issues, I am in on this set and just want it to hold up for years and years in combined mode!
Can't wait to get a copy in hand, but XTB can take as long as needed to make it durable!

The simple answer is that the top of the arms (in the bottom picture you posted, of robot mode) is the same colour as the pipes on his leg. So whatever colour they use the pipes and the top of his arms should be the same.
As to the two different colours in the animation: for the bike, at least, it could be put down to something as simple as representing a shadowing effect. You can see grey on the side of the bike, where the front parts are white. This is a common way to represent shadowing. However, I don't see XTB trying to replicate this by painting the sides of their bike grey. If they were really that concerned about getting all those little colour differences correct, why did they leave the sides white (or off-white, as the case may be)?

I will point out (though I'm not going to argue it because it's tedious at this point) that "changing it now because people aren't happy will cause a delay" is pretty flimsy reasoning for not doing something (particularly if it is fixing an issue you've created yourself), unless there is some reason you absolutely cannot delay release. XTB has delayed releases numerous times (Gravestone trailer and Virtus are two recent examples), and they've also had a highly criticised figure which they refused to delay and subsequently had to do a recall of. But, regardless of that, the point is that the colour choice they have made - which they are entitled to release, if they want - isn't accurate, looks odd, and has had several people question their desire to buy the figure.
I expect they will, at some point in the future, do a re-release with arms more in line with the colours other people have been posting. XTB does love a re-paint.

I've now seen all the screenshots and read all the opinions on Jocund's arms (aka Groove). I think they look great as-is and I'll be thrilled to get another part of Defensor this year. Squinting as hard as I can and the current pictures look pretty good.
Could @Grifter Prime comment on the progress of Vanguard (aka Hot Spot)? While making my pre-orders at least one retailer still has him listed as arriving in 2021 while Jian and Paragon are still listed for 3rd Quarter 2022. I've never quite believed that Vanguard could be turned around so quick. Was there ever any plan of getting Vanguard out in 2021 or was that always a mistake the retailer made on their own? None of the North American retailers even have pre-orders open yet for Hot Spot.

Strangely all I could see from the alt mode is the upper arm (Highlight in red) being blue while the pipe being grey with blue reflection.
And with bot mode in the show has blue tint entire arms, I think xtb did fantastic job to keep the arm blue tinted while pipe/partial engine being chrome/silver to make sense and close to the drawing.
While in the bot mode, it's true that pipe being the same color as arms, but I think no one wants blue pipes yeah?
Interesting theory of using blue as shadow, well, I could say it can also be other way around. And with basically all the shots showing bot mode has blue tinted arm, clearly it's not shadow then.
And blue makes a lot more sense as it echos to the color of hotspot.
I believe I have donated enough onto this topic, gonna have a break on Zeta Raiden thread now.
And to me there is absolutely no need to do anymore color tweaking, as it's very good already.

So, you don't see the difference between the grey and the white below the windscreen then? I think this is the source of the difference in our viewpoints.

I disagree that having a blue engine - particularly the colour they have chosen - makes sense.

I think you're missing a fairly obvious alternative option that allows both parts to be coloured the same but not having blue pipes.

That is the opposite of what I was saying. Shadowing uses a darker colour to represent the lack of light. So if you did say it was the other way around, you'd be saying the same thing as me.

It's also clearly not the colour XTB has used, either.

    Completely irrelevant.
Besides which, the blue they've used does not echo the colour of Hotspot - it's nothing like it.

Yes, you've indicated multiple times that you like it. You're entitled to like it. I'm entitled to disagree with your opinion, and to ask for something that looks more like the original image we were shown without blue on the arms.

The shoulders at the ball peg (shoulder proper) or the part that locks in from the back. My Fuzz is all sorts of tight still. Maybe polish but you may need to contact xtb or your vendor.

The whole shoulder area. They don't seem locked in at all and the ball peg seems weak, although the arms don't flop around. I haven't attempted to transform it yet because it feels like the arms will break off, so maybe i'm just missing a way to secure them in place better. The clamshell also didn't exactly do the shoulders any favors by pushing on the arms the way it did, so maybe something came loose and isn't fastened properly.

I'll have to give him another look and attempt to transform it. Hopefully something is just not transformed right in the shoulders. Eventually it will just live in Gestalt mode so all I need it to do is survive until then lol.

The shoulders do lock at the windshield their is a piece that pulls out and flips then locks into place. The butterfly in the shoulder seems flimsy but works fine. Just make sure to watch a few videos the instructions miss some very important parts of the transformation.
