That Archecore caught my attention- but I wasn't sure how big anything was... and the transforming viking mecha made my jaw drop- not sure how the combiner is gonna play out. I keep telling myself Diaclone is my "this is what I get since i can't/won't get into 40k" little did i know they'd cost the same lol. I really want to look more into the 1/60 32mm (?) terrain but from what I've seen nothing quite strikes my fancy yet... but I may cave on some industrial stuff and set something up as "exploring/defending" a gas mining operation or something along those lines. For some reason I have it in my head that worm pods (and to a lesser extent the large Drago/Horn Larva) excel at burrow ambushes... building up a diorama to that scale (and a box underneath it for burrowing placement) is a *big* investment with a skillset I have zero experience (read sinking more money into learning). I've got 2/3rds of a storage unit to clean out (sell/gift away) before my next big move (whether it's a year from now or whatever... I just don't see myself loading up a small U-Haul with nerd shit. It's a bit sobering what +15 years of collecting can do. To bring this back to Diaclone- right now I've got one large tub that i'd like to not exceed... but V Max Convoy and eventual Ghoul/Drago and VERS BP sort of shot that idea in the head... For those that have decided to get rid of boxes (or otherwise store them alternatively) how well do they hold up? I can't imagine just 'tubbing' them loose like I do my (non-MP) transformers (i'm a terrible collector). I've seen some hobby/tackle boxes floating around prior that seemed to be suspiciously successful- but that doesn't really cover larger parts like BP-01 or Goul/Drago for example. **Update** It's also a little Off Topic so I apologize but part of me was really glad that the rumored new Titan Metroplex ended up being Unicron Trilogy instead of an updated G1 (that i'd probably have ended up using with Diaclone- the OG Titan is close... but doesn't quite *feel* right).
^a friendly suggestion regarding diorama building. Start with a shoe box sized set up made from thick cardboard (amazon box thickness or greater). "Diorama in a box" set ups are virtually free , take up little space , are virtually free heh and will let you vent creative energy while simultaneously deciding if you really want to invest in much larger dioramas. IMO Diaclone Reboot is table top wargaming miniatures with articulation. All the skills from one hobby bleed into the other. I've seen some attractive, small, modular and "suit case" held dioramas over the years.
Sorry for the delay, but yeah. It seems like it. Although I will say that there is enough of the new colors to make it *seem* different. Sorry for the poor quality pics. I don’t have a cool set up like a lot of folks here. I had to take the pictures on top of my dryer in my utility room to get enough white light this early in the day. Lol Edit: I do appreciate that they improved the tail/sword handle so it doesn’t collapse as easily.
^ ironically enough these are some of the better images i've seen of these due to the white laundry machine top Does anyone recognize the vehicle circled in red? WOW (not my picture)! It looks like this mode was inspired by WH40K Tyranids
That's the Roller equivalent from TFC's "Supreme Tactical Commander" Optimus Prime, based off a GI Joe Rolling Thunder. The figure was advertised at least some based on its compatibility with Diaclone figures.
An aside, but I thought the toyhax set turned out really well. Gold paint on his eyes and red on his crest goes a long way to making him look a bit more Diacloney.
I’m thinking of getting Bug Head and the Waruder Soldier. But only the normal version of Bug Head is available and I want to get the Cathode colorscheme of the Soldier. Can anybody do some combining so I can see how well/badly the colors clash?
I managed to get my self unemployed for the covid years and missed out on the DA65 rush. Is there anyone who has a secondary one thats just gatering dust and not wanting to gouge a fellow fan? Preferably someone from within europe for import fee reasons. Thanks in advance for any PMs.
Small suit haul over the weekend... Gridman suit is pretty nice. I have zero interest in the anime, so he'll probably end up as the Commander of my Dianaut army. Then there's this BEAST: I wanted to do this build since the new sets were announced. They all look so good together, and it makes the wait for Ripper even tougher!
I got the same message. I'm still waiting on the following from BBTS: DA-70 Powered System Maneuver Epsilon & Taurus Mobile Base (I ordered this the second time they got put up for preorder) Pod Grander Expansion Unit DA-64 Maneuver Gamma & Delta Mobile Base (I ordered this the second time they got put up for preorder) DA-75, DA-76 Warudaros (a bit late to the commitment on this one) DA-53 Triverse Bullet Core I believe that's about everything that should be showing up by now. DA-77 showing up is making me feel a little better.
Yeah, with the DA-77 processing soon, I feel like I am finally caught up with *older* preorders. I do have an unfulfilled DA-69 with BBTS, but that was a restock that they haven’t gotten in. Hopefully them at goes through, but I’m not overly concerned with that one, since I already have one. Now on to Rippers I guess!
My DA-70 at BBTS has still not been filled and I preordered it early... Update: I did just get a lot of notices for my 1/18 scale stuff.
I got a notice for DA-77 at BBTS as well. I have a ton of other summer release Diaclone that I'm patiently waiting on through them. Very stolked for DA-77 though, as I love the designs and have really been looking forward to them.
So, I'm still trying to figure out the right angle, composition, and focus, so this probably isn't my final picture for social media... But, I wanted to share that I finally got a 1:60 scale Tomica Fairlady police car!!! I'd see 1:62, 1:64, 1:59, etc. But, not a 1:60. I've been wanting one of these for my Diaclone pictures for a few months. Saw it and was... take my money! It actually lacks the pointed black hood design like the Diaclone one, which was on the picture, but it isn't worth the shipping back to Japan to try to get it straightened out... And for those wondering, I really like the one-scale aspect. It gives everything a better sense of space and size realism. As an added bonus, it is much harder to find 1:60 scale stuff, so that helps keep me from going too nuts to protect the wallet. (I'm sure there will have to be some compromises here and there, especially for backgrounds.)
So. Much. This. Diaclone and specifically Dianauts / 1/60 scale action figures have simultaneously expanded and reduced my entire collecting and hobby experience.
Sure thing! This is just a quick pass I put together between Warships rounds. Apropos of nothing, I got Kingdom Scorponok and upgrades for Titan Scorponok at the same time as Bug Head. Does it show?
