would it be possible for someone to fix the servers for FOC and WFC?

What do you mean? You're saying someone has actually modded in (third party) private servers but is only keeping it to themselves and their friend group? Wouldn't there have been a big announcement for that or leaks if that were accomplished properly? Has to be gatekeeping or not real. FOC didn't even have a server browser for the PC port.

It seems I was mistaken. Someone posted old gameplay from before the servers were shut down after they had been shut down

Are there many gamers here who would be interested in a functional server for WFC and FOC for PC, PS3 and Xbox?
I want to look at the possibility of taking Activision to court over rendering goods worthless.
The argument is that with the servers shut down there is the larger proportion of both games made unusable, but also almost all of the dlc content is unusable too. What the real issue is here is that not only did they not put out the servers or at least the code for the general public to be able to use to set up a replacement server, but they didn't even patch the games to allow off-line use of escalation modes or allow LAN connection for multiplayer.
I want to get a petition together to take to a lawyer and discuss the possibilities.
Anyone game to take on Activision?

Activision is a billion dollar company. If you were to genuinely sue them to court they'd spend millions of dollars on the most expensive lawyers, neither do they have the contracts to these games anymore which expired in 2017. It was only inevitable that they'd pull a plug on games they stopped retailing. But in hindsight it was also stupid for High Moon Studios' part to not include any type of server browser for a theoretical custom server for the future. Because these games were developed for mostly consoles in mind at the time. If they were made now, that obviously wouldn't happen.

The least you could do is popularize a petition of some sort. Around three years ago there was a petition to restore the Cybertron games to digital storefronts but disappeared for some reason. I'd write it to Hasbro though, because they're the whole ownership of the TF IP.

You wouldn't have a case, because the games aren't worthless. You still have all the features that are available offline. There's terms and conditions you accept by purchasing and playing a game that specifically detail that online support is finite and can be rescinded at any time. On top of that, no company is in any way responsible for maintaining a product's "worth" after they sell it. Otherwise every old phone that stops getting updated would be a lawsuit waiting to happen.

That's not an argument, it's an observation.

So? They were under no obligation to do anything of the sort.

Making a petition and seeking legal advice are two different things, neither of which would help you in this case.

Not in this instance, not over these games.

Plenty of games have their servers shut down. Plenty of games become obsolete once support ends. Things end, that's just how it works, you can't force a company to keep a specific game alive just because you and a handful of others want to keep playing it.

There are a team of modders (supposedly) working on bringing the Fall of Cybertron servers back up, but they have yet to provide any evidence that they have successfully done it. However, there is a way to play escalation solo, on WFC at least.

I maybe clutching at straws and trying to attempt the impossible, it's just so frustrating that a franchise as big as TF is finally gets not one but two great games (which are great in their own right even if they weren't TF games), and rather than expand of this both Activision and Hasbro so some extent let the series die. I'm not just referring to the WFC/FOC games, but there was originally planned in a third in the series and more to the point there's been nothing to compare to supersede these games.
I think Hasbro have actually missed a trick with this. I personally know quite a number of gamers who had never been into TF before, ending up playing these games and gone and brought a stack load of TF figures. Cross platform and markets purchases should never be overlooked by such a company.
If there was an equal or better to replace these games there wouldn't be much of a fuss made. Yes every game, in fact every thing has its time and their time has passed for the majority, but the fans ought to be given at least a little help in continuing their passions from the big companies, after all, it promotes brand loyalty and more interest in they next products.

I can't post links due to being a new member but search "bumble beo escalation" on YouTube and you'll find it. The mod allows you to play escalation offline with the only catch being that the game gets hardlocked when you die, and you have to download ~2GB of files.

I still find it baffling and infuriating that even though escalation could always be played solo in all 3 games, none of it was offline and is therefore unplayable after the servers were shut off. Thanks a lot Activision, fucking assholes. I recently bought a ps4 copy of RotDS for $15 because I'm desperate to play a Transformers game, even if it's the worst of the Cybertron games and I totally forgot escalation is no more. At least there's the Cybertron parts of the campaign for me to enjoy... it kills me inside that not only are we never getting another sequel to these games, but there is virtually no legal way to obtain them and even when you do, only a fraction of it is playable. Hasbro, get your shit together and deliver us another AAA Transformers game! Multi-million dollar franchise but all they've given us in the past 6 years is a couple of mobile gatcha games and baby's first RTS. Apologies for the rant, it's just sometimes I miss the hayday of FoC so much it hurts.

Please please please can this be done? I want my transformer games back. I seriously want to go back to my PS3. There are no transformer games on the PS4. I doubt there will be any transformer games on the PS5. I don’t wanna play anything else but transformers. I’m dying here. That transformer battlegrounds game which I bought under false pretenses sucks. I want me a transformers action game again. On a Consol not my phone. I’m going back to my PS3 and play the campaign modes all over again like new. I just don’t know what else to do anymore. I need a real transformers game again.

I know this is thread necromancy, but I'm a disappointed 360 player, and I want to throw in as well. I don't even care if I never get to actually play multiplayer again, I just want to be able to open the menu and browse my characters. I have a Decepticon seeker that I want to bring to life. X'(

It's strange for me in some ways that more source codes for games aren't released after a period of time from when the servers go offline.
I understand there's licensing rights especially with branded franchises involved, but when a game reaches the end of its lifetime (by corporate minds), is pulled from sales and the associated servers are shut down, why is it such a big thing to keep is all to themselves.
Let's face it, the only ones who are going to start poking around are fans of the game who just want to keep it going for the associated community.
It's the case with a lot of games since the move to online content and it's only becoming more so.
Actually considering how money grabbing Activision tend to be I'm almost surprised that they don't auction off the servers to the highest bidder.
I've decided to start learning C++ as that appears to be what WFC and FOC are coded in and with time I'm hoping to be be able to some day resurrect some online content one way or another.

They posted a status update video on their progress connecting to custom servers.

This is great news, will this server be for all platforms as I'm on xbox 360 or PC only?

My favorite mode was always escalation on wfc and foc it really bugged me that there wasn't at least a single player offline mode for that as only bots not actual other players.

Wish I was more clever with computers to help but barely no the basics. :)

    Good luck with this

Til all are one (online together again)

I think they are looking into it for all platforms but PC first. I would post a comment on the video to get an official response though.
