I dont have a dog in this fight as bought neither and can see how it would irk original buyers but replacement figures at all is nothing short of miraculous and the company involved is clawing back some of the cost of replacement from new buyers, its just business. I mean they could have just pointed and laughed ala Takara with the disintegrating MP-47 and the original Locke wasnt even broken from what I see from the most part, just poorly made.

Nope, many were broken, some straight out of the box. It was beyond then “just poorly made”.

Word out of China when it started trickling out in late January/early February was that Locke V.1 was terrible. XTB played it off until calling for a recall on March 8th.

 

Well thats kinda crappy but still, Takara flipped the bird in regards to the disintegrating MP-47s, hope everyone gets what they need, I really like the look of Locke robot mode but that transformation looks hateful and Kups alt mode was always kind of shit.

 

I dont have this either. Just following along to see how they handle it so i can decide whether to keep giving them my money. Thinking that a replacement for the total turd that was locke is "miraculous" is the whole problem here. Its why takara will gladly throw that middle finger up anytime they have something like 47 come down the line. So many act like little whipping boy yes men that takara doesnt give a damn about the few that raise a stink about it. This goes for official and 3p companies alike. We pretend like its just part of the game. Then comes xtb with this shitshow and the retailers that should be helping to replace this figure are still giving ppl the run around and there are still ppl saying "oh its just business" like they have a clue or they think they are gonna get some kinda special prize for defending omegacock(or any other retailer). Replacing broken/poorly assembled items isnt as difficult as some are making it out to be.....cough xtb cough im talking to you cough.....

 

I expect there will be a whole slew of MK1 versions on ebay some will be sold as MK2's
I would be very carful about picking this up second hand.

Omegalock is based in the UK so has to abide by UK consumer protection laws I am not sure if that gives protection to people who brought it outside of the UK.

As for people that say its just business so is getting your money back via your credit card company or reporting some one to trading standards or leaving bad feedback.

Fact of the matter is Lockie MK1 should of been recalled retailers could of pushed for this by refusing to pay XTB of refusing to do business with them until it was sorted out.

I not singling out omegalock consumers have a right to get what the paid for as advertised from any company no matter what the product.

 

I pretend nothing, I vote with my wallet, i wait and see what the verdict on items are then make a choice based on informed risk. Sometimes it results in a late tax but can save me literally 100s. I'm not responsible for people's desire to have things asap and neither can I control companies refusing to stand by their product though in this case they are so complaining about a timeline seems... Off to me but you know opinions are like buttholes and I have no vested interest.

Replacing anything isn't difficult for the most part access to spares however is because if you have 100 items of each part you may as well assemble them for 100 new figures. I do all my own repairs on my cars but producing parts is more profitable for those than toys but the advancement of 3d printers could open a whole new avenue.

 

Out of curiosity for those of you who have handled v1, if you could get him for just the cost of shipping, would it be worth a look? I just want one for display

Oddly showz have said nothing about sending the v1 back? So now I'm going to be left with 2 by the end of all whenever that is. Probably snap it in 2 and let constructor hold them in each hand. I'm concerned people will try and flog the v1 though.

 

Yes you are missing quite a big piece of information

XTB are footing the bill for the replacements, not the retailers. So XTB have decided to keep the cost down and ship by sea. Slower and cheaper. Now, XTB have already lost a ton of money, I can completely understand why they have done this for those waiting on replacement.

As for the new orders being shipped first, that's simply because the retailers are footing that bill and shipped by air to get those sooner.

Frustrating, sure but makes sense why it's being handled this way

 

it's a shit that it's being done that way but at least those of you that bought one through tfs-express/omegalock ARE getting your replacement , it may be a little later but it's better than nothing.... look at it as the rest of us being the crash test dummies before you get yours in hand   i got a refund sort of wish i had held off so i could keep the v1 too (which i would have probably ended up given away anyway)

if you could get it for just the cost of shipping yeah

 

I have two on display still. Its a mess of QC issues but to display he's absolutely brilliant
