i love how well the stockade mold fits ss scale

in both vehicle and robot mode

 

So question, is the TLK crosshairs a better plastic than the AOE one? Because I’ve been considering him as of late but just don’t know about owning such similar molds.

 

I love the 07 Stockade mold. He’s one of the old movie molds that works really well with SS scale

 

just to late to vote.. but mine would have been the conbikes as well! Looking forward to them!
As for blue for Jolt, Ill be using Tamiya LP-41 Mica Blue on the one ill do for @Zogliatti
that is as close as I can get to the movie color

 

TLK is a definitively better figure, but needs some help paint wise.

The plastic quality is about the same, maybe a tad flimsier- when I popped out and back in his forearm on the mushroom peg, the upper arm split in two :/ I bought a second copy and it's just fine.

 

Flimsier? Dang I would have thought him being higher in price than AOE crosshairs meant he was made of better plastic. The AOE figure doesn’t feel that great…

Maybe it’s the massive amount of clear plastic.

 

I'm not too sure about the plastic, but TLK Crosshairs as a figure is a huge step up from the AOE one.

Thanks! That blue looks really good, I tried a gloss dark blue on mine today, and I'm not sure exactly how I feel about it yet. It does look nice, but it might be a little too dark.

 

it is a nice shade of blue.. did it cover him all?
it looks a like some parts are more blue, or is that the shine?

 

The shine is probably part of it, but it's also just a trial-run with hand painting so I haven't gotten all the spots yet.

 

TLK Crosshairs has some small improvements that clean up the robot mode (especially the trench coat) but the main reason is the stellar alt mode!

He actually transforms into a screen accurate vehicle and not a giant green brick this time around and they even paint BOTH sides of the car!

I’ve not had any quality concerns with mine, the robot mode definitely needed some silver paint but the corvette looks great especially next to his “brother” sideswipe.

Really diggin this guy. Put him up on the board of "SS figures I said I wasn't interested in then caved and bought and actually really enjoy".

 

After getting Ironhide, I’ve really been enjoying the movie figures more and more.
