My Adventures with Superman Is a Christopher Reeve-Inspired Rom-Com

This one is sort of taking as its inspiration the movie from the Christopher Reeve stories, so it's kind of a romantic comedy and Lois and Clark, and Jimmy, are just recent college graduates. They're at the Daily Planet. They're going through the life stuff that you go through when you're in your early 20s. But it's a romance, you know, in addition to being a superhero story. In our version, Clark is new to his powers, so it's also a, it's a coming of age story for all of them."

 

That works for me. Maybe that means they'll bring in Lana Lang and Maxima, or Lucy Lane for Jimmy. Maybe Lois will have some history with John Corben like in Rebirth. In fact, I'd be pretty happy if a focus more on the Rom-Com side would mean the animation debut of Lori Lemaris.

Redesigned Jimmy I like, Lois still seems like she should still be in high school, maybe some voiced footage will change my opinion at this point.

 

If they swapped her and Jimmy's heights I think I'd be okay with it.

 

You're right. I was also just thinking, is this Clark suppose to be very tall compared to average height, and maybe Jimmy is one of those surprisingly tall lanky types? Maybe this Lois is closer to average height than we thought because we don't have a fourth character to compare her with yet. Maybe it's time they show what this show's version of Lex Luthor looks like (assuming he's in).

 

Clark I wouldn't be surprised if he's bigger than everyone else on the show. Since "clumsy country oaf" is how some artists visualize the Clark Kent disguise.

 

In addition to him wearing baggy clothes to hide his physique, his hair being a messy mop and not resembling Superman, and the lenses of his glasses make his eyes look a different color.

It’s a better disguise then some people think.

 

Lois's skin got a bit lighter from the first concept art, i think it might've been due to all the comparisons to The Owl House's Luz.

anyways hope this is good. been dying for a new Superman cartoon and especially one with more of a focus on Daily Planet shenanigans.

Lara's a spoiler there. But she looks interesting.

Bearded Jor-El looks awesome. Though I feel too many hero dads get frustrated. Why be angry like Omni-Man, when you can be chill like Goku?

Mxyzptlk is the only design I dislike. He deserves to be an imp/goblin, not an Asian trickster (though that interpretation is valid too I suppose).

 

What they done to Mr. M, but hey we got a character from Batman, maybe Batman is/was going to appear in a episode.

 

I can dig Mxy since this version reminds me more of the New 52 version during Grant Morrison's run where he and the other 5th Dimensional beings looked more like Elves, though even then he still had a suit and derby. This is the type of news I was looking forward to, can't wait!

 

So is this still happening or is it getting canned along with a million other things? Or are they thinking of selling it off like the Batman toon?

 

I never shared it because, well, I'm not sure why not, but there was a small update from the creators when most of the Zaslav/HBO news happened saying the series was still going since it was always intended for Cartoon Network.

 

Ah, cool. This looks to be an interesting take so I wanted to give it a shot.

 

So does this mean we'll get some sort of Brainiac/Evil Lara hybrid. The idea of a mad Lara isn't a new one to me.


Also, if the creators want to go hardcore with their Star Trek references, what their proposing for Mxy sounds more like Trelane.

I'm also a little iffy about losing Silver Banshee's classic look and having her represent Intergang, but keeping an open mind. And does an older Vicki Vale mean we also get an older Batman like the SynderVerse??

 

So I like all of these and the concept art looks great. I even like Mxy's design, just not sure that it should be Mxy. He looks like he escaped from Dragon Ball, or Dragon Quest. I mean, most versions of Mxy can look however he wants, that's sort of the whole deal with the Fifth Dimensional Imps, but I always associated Mxy with fancy/outlandish suits and a bowler hat.

 

In addition to what @Deathcatg said, some of the cast (Supes VA) is still doing interviews where they bring it up with no indication it's been cancelled.
