Yeah, the IDW 1.0 Wreckers had a Suicide Squad vibe due to being anti-heroes.

not scary but much more disturbing. In AOE optimus just got the dinobots free he says they have to work together but grimlock refuses (without saying a goddamn word ffs) and optimus punches him and then says "save my family or DIE" like what the actual fuck is that supposed to be? No wonder peter cullen's version of bayverse optimus fits more as a nemesis prime, its such a big disrepect for cullen he wanted prime to be a gentle hero but they forced him to be a war criminal in this movie and tlk. It's so much worse than "give me your face" couldn't they just let him say "save my family and we are even", but the worse things is he slides his sword towards grimlocks horns while saying that shit. And even worse is that drift says "that's optimus prime!" like this is something they see everyday.

that whole seen just ruined the dinobot charge and optimus rescue. It felt like he was gonna kill the dinobots by the end of the movie, who the hell thought this would be a good thing for the flagship character to say?

Grimlock is an 80ft tall warrior, leader of the Dinobots, and also refers to himself as a king. He wasn't just going to say "okay optimus".

He felt intimidated by Optimus, which is why GRIMLOCK attacked him FIRST. Grimlock eventually becomes weak, and Optimus says "You defend my family, or die". Grimlock knows he's lost his fight, and Optimus successfully tames him.

But general audiences probably wouldn’t know that.

that's a good point. I would've liked if they were actually able to talk so they could've explained how they ended up on Lockdown's ship and maybe other stuff they've been through

Fair point plus i always saw bayverse prime as slayer of evil more than a knight in shining armor especially when it came to aoe and tlk.

Speaking of tlk ever find sqweeks existance or fate kinda disturbing. Imagine you're a warrior from either faction about to die a warriors death but some kid saves your life and kinda ruins it. I mean you live that's cool and all but like dude nothing else is better you have a body made out of literal spare parts, you can't speak any other word but chihuahua(and fuck? for some reason) and most impotantly you can't transform. That's just sad, hell even megatron kinda felt bad for him he just picked him and called him ugly he didn't even kill him. Poor guy probably was better of dead

The Vok Unicron scene in Beast Wars is easily the most unnerving scene bar none. Blu Mankuma's performance there is genuinely chilling and Primal can only be bound and be helpless to the impending doom towards the end of season 1.

also the Robocop shoot em up scene in Cybertron with Hot Shot, Scattorshot and Red Alert. came out of nowhere and was one of the most effective cliffhanger scenes in any Transformers series weather intentional or not.

also i'm seconding the mpreg shit in Lost Light for disturbing moments, what the literal fuck.

Probably not the darkest by a stretch, but Windcharger and Wheeljack’s dead bodies in the 86 film always stuck out to me.

Just the brief image of their dead bodies laying around unattended, and an off screened death, got across the idea that despite being a colorful character, they really were just another casualty in this giant war.

I'm rewatching Armada, or rather Micron Legend. Imagine being Thrust in his final moments.

Was doing random episodes of Prime and came across the episode where Starscream and Knockout had to deal with the "vampire/zombie" vehicons.

Watching the old classic G1 episodes, I'm overwhelmed by the spirituality; the local town concept, for example, which is conveniently generic and all-inclusive (not a reference to multi-culturalism, but a reference to the all-logical units of city society); I don't know, but could that be the scary thing about the classic Transformers, that its local town concept speaks communication?

Oh I have a few! Probably more but I block them out.

    The comics
First, tailgate waking up after 7 million years and it's just treated as no big deal.

Second, the US version of head masters. Organic beings forever trapped with a robot partner. I can go on about this for a while but I pretend the Japan version is canon. I mean, at some point they just have a rotting corpse in their head, right?

Last, this image just bugs the hell out of me.

I watched "War Dawn" and "Trans Europe Express" tonight, and was taken aback by the contradiction of my own earlier statement; and then, I came to a sort of realisation, that the Americas being the locale of Transformers, with the local towns consisting of the generic and everywhere else having names (like Paris and Istanbul), but no American names meant that I was vindicated.

Maybe that's a thing; that throughout the G1 cartoon, it's on purpose and it's spiritual for America to be nameless, while everywhere else is named

I was referring to the things that overwhelm/scare me, about the classic cartoons

...You're scared of the fact that the G1 Transformers cartoon was America-centric? And that spirituality factors into that somehow?

Not scared in the literal sense, but in the symbolic sense, and only because of the impressive dynamic, that America is essentially nameless throughout the episodes. By being nameless, when Europe and the Middle East aren't, the old episodes are spiritual
