You make a good point. Some of us have two sets of bots, one to use as decoration and one to play around with. That's why I have a used Phoenix on the way to forever stand on my shelf in a fixed A-pose next to Zeta's Superion, but I'm also getting the Iron Factory release for messing around with.

However I would also be the first to admit that its articulation isn't that good, especially because I also own big dudes like Fans Hobby Double Evil and Power Baser who are about Phoenix's size too but are way more poseable. Those figures have their own nitpicky issues but not in the articulation department.

 

Finally picked one of these up got it for $270 cant complain it really has some shelf presence to it been using the seige jetfire for so long that this is a massive upgrade

 

I think the critizism for this figure is fair. Sure there's a lack of articulation but I think this figure gets a pass from me more so than any other figure is just my love for the character. FT knocked it out of the park as far as how he looks ( for me ). This figure is responsible for getting me into this hobby. Now thousands of dollars in I really should'nt like him as much as I should   Plus he does look great on a shelve.

 

I loved the 1st issue Phoenix so much back when he was released in 2018(iirc). I got the re-issued one earlier this year. Didn't care for the X version's pearlesent white.

 

There’s always that first figure. The one that is responsible for the life-altering step into the money pit that is Transformers. At least you started with a good one!

Not me but that part scared the shit out of me when I first transformed it. It made the loudest crack that I thought it broke. Thankfully it didn't.

That’s all that holds the leg? Yeesh. So much for superior build….

 

I love Fantoys, but some time there transformations are scary as poo. It is like pulling a wrench, you know if you pull just a little harder it going give but your going bust your knuckles. That's my metaphor for it .   

 

Is that your FT-10? Was it the recent re-run?

I've been thinking - FT plastic is generally very hard and presumably equally brittle. Doesn't plastic generally become more brittle over time?

Yeah, that attachment looks like it could be prettttttty bad.

I wanna see the leg housing piece that broke away :/

 

Mine broke the same way, but I found it still holds in place fine in both modes, it just became a parts former. I did receive replacement parts from FT years ago, but I didn't install them right away and then misplaced them, that is my fault.
