To this day I still say Optimal Optimus wasn't nearly as bad as people made him out to be

I'm with you there. I've got the SDCC version and it's a heck of a fun figure.

I did get both DNA kits for mine, but the base figure on it's own fixes some of the proportional issues I had with the original, the kits just help complete it. And the smaller Primal works decently as a pre beast Optimus Primal, especially considering he's about the same size as Kingdom Primal

Nice to see UT (I think?) get some love.

People had issues with him? Like what? I thought he was pretty cool, just caught me at a time when money was tight so I never picked him up.

A lot of people complained about the evolution gimmick, the lame alt mode of tiny Primal, the lack of his ground vehicle mode, lack of orange paint on the cockpit section and probably some other things.

Ah. I occasionally see this guy priced pretty reasonably. I totally didn't know (or just forgot) that he had the smaller Primal like Rodimus n Optimus does in that line. Debating should I get PotP Optimal Op or the 6-inch titanium that has the monkey, bot, superman pose jet and ground vehicle?

My mind is going "two figs in one!" while my heart is saying,"Fits better with your current collection." Anyone including you want to chime in?

Personally, between the two I like the POTP one better, it may be lacking the ground vehicle mode, but the Titanium is lacking the beast mode. At least with the DNA upgrades you can give the POTP one his ground vehicle mode. Plus, if your collection is more Generations scaled then the smaller Primal works decently as a pre-earth Primal since he's about the same size as Kingdom Primal. Granted, if you collection is more Legends sized, then the Titanium might fit better because it's smaller. Kind of all depends on the focus of your collection :)

    Damn it to hell....

First, the context... I bought Optimal on liquidation, for something like 15$ I think... it's ok, but not a big fan overall due to all the shortcomings of the figure (thanks for being cheap again Hasbro and doing it "half-cooked").. and these few posts made me reconsider getting the DNA kits after all.

So I see the DK-08+ kit, with lots of pictures with the wheels, etc. and assumed that it was the original DK-08 kit with extras, and purchased it. But something bugged me... so I did more checking and damn it all to hell!!!!, it's just the hands and the other bits and NOT the wheels kit and I'm an idiot to jumping the gun too fast, as I can't leave it like that.

Now, had to hunt down the DK-08 with the wheels now... found it, and now have both kits ordered and it just cost me about 8x the price of the freaking figure.

    No kidding..

It's one thing that frustrates me... how some items are just never produced in good numbers..

But a good chunk of the price thing is actually the shipping... it was 35$ while the kit was 25$ (that was reasonably priced)...the "+" kit was another 50$, which is why I though it was the "full kit" and not just the hands and shield.

I've bought another similar kit in the past which was like that, V2 had all that V1 had and improved on it, and why my confusion/mistake.

Yea, that shipping really escalated the cost, if memory serves, both kits were $25ish when they released, so the shipping definitely is a punch to the gut

And to go back to appreciation... finally managed to get this lady.

I had hesitated on her as I wasn't a fan of her sword, and the next thing I knew was that she was gone from shelves overnight.

But now in hand, I found that we can set it up with an energon Gatling type weapon which works fairly well.

I also just received my larger sized "energon cubes".

Got Optimal Optimus from TFsafari. I like him, but he leaves me wanting a Commander class version sans slab primal.
