Looks nice. Could the train experts weigh in as to how accurate these are to the real life trains? Even if they may not have the length, in what way are they accurate? Thanks in advance.

Based on these two images, he should be at least 50cm/20" tall, when standing up straight possibly slightly taller. MP-10 is about 24cm/9.5" tall.

Think of the Moon Studio trains as artistic versions of the real trains. Proportions and details are not accurate, but many of the main features are there.

Of course, it won't be the exact replica that the Takara MPG trains are aiming to be, but that was never the goal here anyway.

I've been thinking about this as well, but judging by their track record, I think I'll go with the first release since I have no interest in metallic paint or any other deco other than standard Headmasters. A potential downside is missing out on any fixes or updates.

I've also just ordered Zeta Neptune after months of deliberation, so I guess I'm hopping on the Zeta train.

Looking at these two photos it seems like Raiden is even taller than 20". MP-10 being about 9.5" tall means Raiden's knees are a hair under 9" tall? 8.5" maybe? Once you know his knees then look at the image on the right and count the green gridlines. His knees around about 3 grids tall and then extrapolate out from there for total height. Maybe 8.5 or 9 square tall depending if you measure to top of shoulders or his eyes or the pointy bits on his hat. 8.5" x 8.5 SQ / 3 SQ = 24.1".

But that seems too tall doing this math. Zeta/Moon Studio has only ever made 20" nominal combiners and I don't see a compelling reason to change now. There is something deceiving in one of those photos as I'm pretty sure this guy will be able to look the Combaticons and Stunticons in the eye once combined. Just like in the cartoon during all the combiner battles in Headmasters. Not trying to raise wild speculation that Moon Studios is making this "wrong"; just something I noticed while admiring the pictures. Was surprised to see the legs come all the way up to MP-10's shoulders.

MP Prime comes up to roughly the knees of the other Zeta combiners as well.

So I think it's safe to say they'd be around the same height as their other combiners.

Yeah I made sure to specify "at least" 50cm/20". If I had to guess I'd say 21" to 22". I'd estimate the height of the train legs at around 7.5-8". Remember he isn't standing up straight in the picture on the right (and neither is MP-10), so who knows, he might well be 22-23".

Either way he'll certainly be a sight to behold in person.

This is the Raiden I will go with. I have high doubts we'll see a CHUG-version considering the MP is close to that scale as-is and they don't want to step on their own toes, so I'll do MP-scale and still have it as part of my CHUG collection. Besides, trains are supposed to be massive and I can head-canon my way out of the scale issue. That said, I'll wait for the inevitable, and much cheaper, boxset that Zeta always does.

I honestly would love for Takara to resurrect Encore with a Raiden boxset. Then eHobby diaclone colors

I really think leaders should only come up to about halfway a combiners' calves.

Or maybe I'll just uses Legends scale ones at that point.

Unless the leg bots are twice the height of a leader this doesn’t make sense. Combiner size is overplayed a lot

I’ve always thought combiners are like massive front line fighters, smaller units easier to transport and create a massive weapon, where city bots are the last line of defence

I can't check the math at all, but there is one potential reason for change that I can think of (if there is any change). Using the two torso bots to actually make the torso could restrict some of their control over the size of things. We have already seen the individuals' and their proportions do not seem compromised, and neither are the combiner's proportions. To get both right some extra size may have been needed to be added to pull it off. Ideally Zeta would just take a shot of Raiden next to their Superion and/or Bruticus, but that would harm the illusion "Moon Studios" is pretending matters.
