Hello guys! I was thinking getting Airwave from the Earthrise line, it has a cheaper price for a Deluxe Class. What's your opinion about it? Is it worth it or nah?

Does it look cool to you? Do you think you'll have fun with it if you purchase it?

I really enjoyed the Micromaster Base inspired bots from ER. One of the highlights of the line for me. Shame they only produced 2 molds for them. I have all 6 of them and enjoy them quite a lot. Even more if you have a couple of Micromasters to interact with them.

I think people who skipped them because "not G1 accurate" really missed out.

I bought two and turned him into a throne for Megatron.

    Presenting.... Chairwave!

Given his bio on tfwiki I think this fate is rather funny.

I can safely say the Modulator and Weaponizer play patterns both completely bounced off me. I got a half decent base mode, an okay robot mode and a complete partsforming transformation instead of a proper conversion. Big letdown for me.

I know you're looking for an actual answer but it's one that's impossible to quantify. Something is only 'worth it' if it has value to you personally.

As a Transformer Airwave has much more play value than most things at that price point.

It sounds like you put emphasis on the play value more than anything else.
If you get him, you not only get that figure's play experience, you also add it to every other figure of that type you own.

On my end, this guy was simply to help me fill out the Deception ranks.

Airwave (and Overair and Hothouse) is a lot of fun, break him apart and attach him onto other bots. His arms make a good "turret" hardpoint for other accessories. The land carrier mode is also fun if you like the micromasters. I do.

Between the modulators, he's the only one that appealed to me and got and he's fine.

Like any of the part-bots, he offers interactive fun with the other figures, so it's a fairly fun figure to have.

I think he’s fun but not by itself. I like base/city modes and playing w/ micromaster scale characters so he adds a lot of fun. Even as just a connector between titans or using as a mobile platform. He seems pretty inexpensive these days so I think he’s worth it.

I got the Overair version first and I like that look a lot more.

I think the modulator gimmick was a cool idea that Hasbro didn't commit to anywhere near enough to actually work. Which isn't surprising, the idea would work best as the central gimmick to a whole toyline, it was never gonna work as like two molds.

The closest it got was the Botropolis set being done as an expansion to Sky Lynx. The color matching, especially in the roads, did wonders for the whole gimmick.

I love him purely because i bad g1 airwave and was one of my favourites. Earthrise is grey but I wouldn't pay full price, i got mine for about £12. I also love hot hose when he's configured in his g1 mode

If you don't have any of the weaponizer/modulators I think it's worth it to have one. Airwave's got two decent base modes that are fun if you have micros to go with them. The robot mode is a cool design that makes a good drone/crowdfiller. He's not the best as a pile of weapons, but it's a fun thing to fiddle with to try out.

If you're paying less than regular price, I think it's a no brainer to give it a try.

In Amazon is 16 bucks rn and I have a coupon of 20 so I was thinking on spending him on it. Also I have some minicons from Armada haga, can they apply to this figure? Lmao

He looks like shit and I don't like parts formers from the start. He is the worse looking parts former so I skipped him. This is IMHO so YMMV. If he's not under $10, I'd rather spend the money on other figures.

I used Airwave as a pseudo Tidal Wave for my CW Thrust (yes, Greasepit is also there, but Airwave makes surprisingly good arm armor for Hulk Hands). It works similarly to moldmates of CW Thrust because of the arm sockets (so it doesn't work on moldmates of, say, CW Blast Off)
