I’ve not watched Paik’s video. Haven’t actually watched any reviews for quite some time now.

It looks to accurately match some of the early guesses at how it will work.

Questions: How does it feel? Is it loose or does it feel flimsy? What are your thoughts on the hinging part sitting inside a shell on the arms of the skeleton? Is this still the assumption (that the ratchets and hardware will be in the combiner part)? Do you think that it’ll be durable enough? As this is an area that I would think gets some of the most adjusting between poses.

 

Ok I’ll try to make what I say make sense and I hope it answers some questions:
The assumption is that, yes, it will go inside of a bicep type shell. My “guess” is the waist of the armbots will become a shoulder swivel of sorts.
I also believe that the ratchet for the elbow will be part of the shell as well. Dragstrip in arm mode is pretty flimsy as is, it’s just meant to allow the motion, not to click into place

 

Perfect sense. Thanks. I think this is an approach that has challenged the engineering, which I find admirable in a way. Don't get me wrong... having the arm bots split in half is a perfectly good way of going about it (in fact that way kind of nods to the toon (even if it is Breakdown we see getting lazered in two)). It's this kind of thing I find impressive though. Looking back at some of the prototype shots for Deadend is tough because it's clear really that he's been ready for a while now. TFCon, I hope, will have some new things to get excited about.

Which was the event where we got to see finished articles of Iceman, Smokey, Thomas, Sheridan, Hunk and... I forget, but there were a few others. Maybe Dunerunner / rider.

Be nice if we get colours of Bandit and some more aerial bots. Is it too much to hope for Menasor and Superion?

I've just transformed Roadking from truck to bot mode. The transformation still feels inspired!!! If FT were to make a G2 version. I will not be able to resist for sure.

 

Yup, definitely edited. I'm pretty sure that layout would result in the least stable MP combiner we've had in this hobby.

 

I couldn't resist even without FT making one. Paid GetRightRobot to do these for me. (The shoulder wings on Silverbolt will be fixed when the next Aerialbot comes out). I had to cut back on some other purchases but totally worth it.

 

Just spitballing here, but hopefully FT goes back on what they said and releases Dead End separate from all the combiner parts. If not, the last piece will be $300-400 if I had to guess.

It would be nice to have the option to opt out of the combiner pieces as I am using FT for bots anyway.

 

Such a gr8 feeling to FiNALLY complete the set!

Transformed roadking back and forth last night for the first time in ages. It’s gotta be the best figure they’ve done.

 

For what he turns into, it is a very natural feeling transformation.

 

The only hard part the first few times were the thighs/knees moving into position for truck mode, everything else is pretty straightforward.
