The twin barrel guns are only for car mode, they are not made to be clipped into the hands, gave it a go anyway.

Reminds me of trying to set up my G1 Stunticons on display as a set. It always bugged me I couldn't do this.

Yeah, how dare XTB to listen to the fans and do exactly what the community asked for (include the pieces and lower the price). They should have not listened to the fans so everyone suffers.

I think the issue (at least, for me) is that the fans were pretty clear that this should have happened the first time around. I mean, hooray for *finally* listening but it kinda just highlights how they screwed their fans in the first place.

 

with how dark the youth trailer came out to be in combined mode, one could get 90% of the look of the set simple with a new head, car chest armor, and some stick on pieces for the shins to emulate that look. if i were an upgrades kit company i'd get right on that.

I'm glad to hear that. I wish everyone felt the same. Too often, humans act like "If I suffered, so should you," and that can keep things from getting better. Does it suck that things get better and cheaper over time? Only for the people who resent things improving.

The original PlayStation cost $299 in 1995 (about $538 in today's dollars). But later they released PSOne the hardware revision for $99 ($153 in today's dollars).

From what I can see, MMC arms, UT legs, and Zeta Onslaught (obviously).

 

In this instance, it wasn't a case of releasing a product and refining it/solving issues with a second release. I'm talking about the deliberate "promise something to your customers and then renege on that promise at release" and "charge an exorbitant price for something that was supposed to be included" type of screwing over. The deliberate, "f%^k you" type of screwing over.

For a while I have been saying that MP and MP-style prices have become ridiculous over the last couple of years - and each time I do, someone invents reasons why 50% inflation should be acceptable. So no, price lowering over time is not a Bad Thing, at least not in my opinion. I don't *expect* it, either - I am familiar with the concept of inflation and have no problem with a reasonable increase as time goes on. But I have said elsewhere that I bought the recent re-issue of TE-01 (in part) because it was priced so competitively, and we need to support companies who resist massive price increases.

What this whole accessories pack situation shows, though, is that the price should never have been set at what it was in the first place. $70 for a few clip-on pieces and vehicle guns? I was gobsmacked when I saw the asking price. It was bad enough (I thought at the time) they were charging $200 for the trailer itself - having had it in-hand for several months, I have a better appreciation for what it is and am less affronted now, though I still think it was a little high - but to charge an extra third of that for a few extra pieces of molded plastic was, in my mind, reprehensible - and remains so.

One of the problems, I think, is the lack of competition in the marketplace. Where there used to be 8-10 companies all producing MP-style figures, we are now left with 3-4, plus the occasional offering from Takara (who has also increased their prices dramatically).

yep. I get bitching when it happened, whether you wanted the kit & didn't buy or bought the kit & felt gypped. The original complaint is being addressed for whatever reasons a person wants to attribute to Keith(cu pushback, poor sales, goodness-of-his-heart). Don't bring it up again now.
