Still falls under the "we have Masterpieces and CHUG 'mini-masterpieces' now, what possible use could I have for an action master"-umbrella, while also not having any kind of precursor in animation that I'm aware of. More for those who like him, I guess!
this would be a lot cooler if they had painted/inserted more robotty bits in his legs and arms too. as it is it's just a clear statue that makes the hollow limbs noticeable and the greeble reveal gimmick kinda pointless anyway.
I think they at least did that with the Megatron and Optimus, though I may be misremembering. I assume that since this is kind of a smaller release, then they decided to just limit it to the chest
I mean if they’re going to 10 inches maybe it would have been a good time to throw in action master devastator or omega supreme
I'm aware that these kinds of things aren't for everyone, plus those prices are a bit wild.. but I can appreciate them and would totally like owning them.
Not me. Jokes aside, I think there's a market for these figures and prices, otherwise they would not take the time to make them and even promote them. I know there's a very competitive market for the vintage Jumbo figures which are the inspiration of these Super Cybors... toys?? figures?? expensive niche products??? Glad some people will be happy to buy them.
Price of oil/plastic keeps going up, and they're wasting it making weird crap like this? Ok then... I'm not a huge environmentalist by any stretch, but how many quality toys/collectibles could have been made with those materials?
Definitely not for me since I’ve never been a fan of non-transforming figures, but I do think the concept is neat. What I really don’t like though is the ‘clear’ version of the figures, it takes away from the aesthetic the figure is going for. Like… what’s the point of removing the chest if you can already see everything..? That & there aren’t any hidden mechanical details in the arms, legs or head to speak of, making the clear plastic even more pointless for the rest of the figure. I dunno, it just feels like wasted potential to me… But this is just my opinion of course, take it however you will.
Action Masters were fun to play with. I liked having them do actual wrestling moves like a piledriver that my WWF hasbro figures couldn't do. Even then, Action Masters were still kinda uncool, maybe a bit better than Pretenders or Micromasters. Do these Super 7 figures have a similar play factor to Action Masters or are they more like statues?
And at the same time there are large groups of people who say the exact same thing about any toy, especially in the adult collector space, which to be fair is most Transformers at this point. Not to be confused with Super7 Re-action figures. They are closer to action masters, though with less articulation in the legs (think classic Star Wars figures). These have no articulation in the legs and are bigger.
If it's really 11inches tall I'll be happy because it arguably could fit into the 6inch scale line. But $85 is ridiculous!!
So I bit the bullet and ordered this guy because I really wanted a Bumblebee to scale with my 6 inch figure collection and I will say that it does that VERY well but that's all that it does. The packaging says it has 7 points of articulation but I only count 5: head, shoulders x 2 and knees x2. And the knees barely count IMO because the feet collide with each other almost immediately. So 3 points of articulation and flimsy plastic for $85 bucks! This is my first Super7 figure and it makes me wonder why they get so much hype?
