Yeah, photos from the front don’t do this any justice. His helmet definitely looks good from the side. Hopefully it’s amazing in hand or at the least ThreeZero makes small adjustments to the head sculpt.
Yeah that's my biggest worry - produce the usual suspects then move on to another line. ThreeZero has a history of doing that. These are looking really good I hope they continue to flesh out many characters. And I would LOVE to see the Dinobots in this line!!!
if they make a version of this in shattered glass colors I might consider getting it, seeing as the kuro kara kuri shattered glass optimus prime is nearly $500. honestly, it just depends on how much they\'re asking for it. While I\'m not the biggest fan of non-transforming transformers, this still looks really cool.
You are right, the head sculpts looks nice from the side profile. It just looks odd from the front. Hopefully, it's just the way it is positioned in the pics. Still on the fence with this guy until we see more pics. I've got a bunch of ThreeZero stuff and love their work so I'm hopeful for this line!
I’m thinking it could be the bright, front-facing lighting for the product photography. In real-world conditions, the forehead hood & crest may throw more shadows on the eye region, making that area “pop” less. That’s my hope, anyway. I’m sure we’ll see tons of advance in-hand reviews of samples before he actually hits the streets.
They currently have Megatron and Hot Rod in the works. They'll probably do more or less depending on how well these sell.
The head doesn’t look as weird with those colors. Good work, looks appropriately evil. This figure looks cool and I’m interested, but there’s definitely something throwing me off about the head. Hope it’s better in person
Well, I wouldn't put Megatron or Hotrod outside the scope of heavy rotation characters... However the tag line of "MANY more" figures coming soon does have me excited and curious. They probably saw what was happening at Super 7 and thought they could get in at that ultimates price point.
It's generally series. There's been issues in the past where companies have had licensing for movie and couldn't do G1, or had G1 and couldn't do Beast Wars. Haven't seen that happen for a while now so I think that Hasbro probably prompts licensees "hey, we have a range of TF series, you probably want to license them all"...
Obviously this is a new line, but thanks to the couple DLX figures I have, I trust these figures will be excellent and worth the money. Seriously, I have no idea how Hot Toys can get away with charging $250+ for their most basic figures now while we can get DLX figures for around 200. Maybe it's the cost of the actors likeness. Anyways, if these keep under the $100 range, I'm all in.
Just pre-ordered Optimus Prime. Under $100. ThreeZero is doing the best work with Transformers and I am thrilled with the prices.
Optimus up for pre-order for only $80. Bumblebee also still up for $60. Transformers – MDLX Optimus Prime – threezero store
Wow, I was expecting closer to $100. For a die-cast figure of that size with that much articulation and accessories, $80 is honestly a bargain.
Does the threezero store need you to pay for the preorders right away or when it's available? I ask, since I'm waiting for BBTS to put up their preorder for prime, since I have BB preordered already at BBTS.
