Mine was also cancelled, but get this: it's back up for preorder. DC Designer Edition Batman Year Two - (NYCC)
Tempting but at the same time I'm evaluating my interest in McFarlane's stuff realizing I rarely reach for his figures compared to the other stuff I have.
Maybe they will keep issuing the $5 everytime they cancel. Might have enough to pay full in cards when, you see it in stores.
yeah, I have lost interest in this now...would have been nice to get the signed one I preordered...got 10 bucks for the signature version...
Mcfarlane acknowledged the issue and is saying they'll try to find a solution. The solution is stop making store exclusives. Simple as that.
Of course I missed when it went back up. Never gonna happen. Exclusives are too crutical for negotiaitng with the retailers.
Man, that actually looks pretty good with Super Powers figures! Like you, I was surprised that it's more 1:18 than 1:12. I tried some forced perspective here, but this shot also gives you the idea how much smaller the Batcomputer is in the McFarlane set than the Mattel set from a few years ago. Just saw that my Year 2 Batman order was also canceled. The reason they give is due to high demand. I think I ordered the first day it went up for preorder. Or are the cancellations just done randomly?I’m pretty sure I approved all of the repeated delay notices, so I know it wasn’t that. Evidently, I missed the window when it went back up for preorder too. What a clusterfuck.
that doesn't really explain why the limited signature one was cancelled... if they had a limited stock, and it sold out (and it did pretty quick), while the regular version was still available I don't see how 'high demand' (other than demand from people who didn't get one) would affect that order...
I'd heard it worked well with Super Powers, which I've gotten back into of late. It does look good. I just wish it were a little more cohesive as a playset. It looks more like a collection of accessories and a wall to me. If it had a floor piece it all sat on, I think I'd commit.
Yeah, I don’t get it. That’s what it said in the e-mail, but that doesn’t make sense to me either. For that matter, what’s the point of even doing a preorder if the stock is so limited that you can’t even fill orders placed on the first day?
So McFarlane said the new Swamp Thing will have “a new head or something exclusive to GameStop” and by the way he described it in the video, he makes it seem like it’s 3 feet tall or something. *I know it’s not but yea
The normal head is up for order on bbts:DC Rebirth DC Multiverse Swamp Thing Mega Action Figure Compared to the one in the video: I really don’t dig the horned sculpt. I’m a huge fan of the new 52 horned design, but this just isn’t it.
Same; if the horns matched the comic design and had the wings it would be a cool powered up version (I'm just now realizing DC Collectibles had such a figure)...and then release Animal Man and Anton Arcane and I would be super stoked.
Same! I’d pay a lot for a good animal man. Especially if there was a grant Morrison version and a modern version. The animal man/ swamp thing stories were easily my favorite part of New 52.
