Poor guy died young. He really was a driving force to help bring our franchise to what it is today. RiP.

It seems like exactly that. He fought it for 7 years and then suddenly took a leave. I posted at the time thst it wasn't a good sign, and sadly that's how it played out.

Despite my lengthy criticisms of Hasbro, I've generally considered Brian Goldner to be a fantastic CEO for the company, leading them through thick and thin.
Most definitely, Hasbro will be worse without him. I hope the next CEO can be as good as he was.

On a personal level, I obviously don't know him, but I also don't know much about him, so perhaps we'll learn a bit more about him as people reminisce.
Still, cancer since 2014... Maybe it's a blessing in disguise. Hopefully he's in a better place now.

I appreciate that both this website, and TF fans in general, are the kind to take the time to acknowledge something like this. These sudden losses, anticipatable from a diagnostic standpoint or no, are difficult for everyone. My thoughts go to his family, friends, and close colleagues.

P.S I hope that the next CEO will not run over and at the same time will not organize crusades against thrid-party and against high-quality KO (including OS with initial fixes).

Otherwise, if this happens, then fans and collectors will tightly boycott their products to CHUG.

    RIP.

Im hoping for a fresh new direction. Its easy to say Mr. Goldner pushed TFs to where they are now, but... does no one remember G.I. Joe? Or any of the other franchises-turned-movie fails? Im just super bitter Hasbro didnt try new stuff with the TF movies... until after Bay tanked the box office returns with repetitive drivel (sorry, bigger explosions! :lol ).

Still, tip of the hat if he was involved in hiring any of the talented Generations staff (like John Warden!). And wag of the finger for telling investors that Hasbro would b fine after the TRU bankruptcy, only to reveal at the earnings call that they took a hit like everyone else! :rolleyes2  He was a fantastic CEO because of his ability to fire up investors and garner support from analysts! Im just not convinced he's the best there is, and look forward to seeing what future leadership can do.

Very sad news, though. I hope he went peacefully and did not suffer. Cancer is a terrible disease to battle. :(

Rest in peace, sir. I hope your final moments were peaceful.

Willing to bet the transition to a new CEO will be seamless, and will mostly likely be business as usual for the next few years.

This has to be one of the dumbest posts I've read.

Hasbro, while aware of these parasite brands, has really made no moves against them as it doesn't make much financial sense to pursue companies that barely scratch your profit margin.

And if they did I can almost guarantee you that there would be no boycott. Quite a few pissed off people, but no boycott.

Remember BotCon 2012, where for a certain time all the main pages of the third-party goods in the main online stores were removed during this event.

A year ago (2020), just because of their tip, they almost covered the production of my beloved company WJ. Because of this, I almost lost the opportunity to buy M-01 Fire Scorpion (Knightformer OP)!
