The fact that there isn't a standardised framework for the Hall of Frame and each year, has been unique to the whims of Hasbro is a farce. It is absolutely their right to do whatever they want with it, however that undermines the whole thing.

Each to their own, however I don't particularly like the idea of being forced to pick a Beast Wars character as they try to ramp up awareness for their new movie with beasts in it. Like I said, their prerogative but their intentions are clear. If I was to pick a Beast Wars character, I want to pick 'em because I want to pick 'em, not because I'm told I have to.... that, and it would be Quickstrike anyway!!  

 

I went for Inferno and Commander Rodimus.

The best toy is Cyclonus. It's damn near perfect. Easy and smooth transformarion, Almost no kibble in robot mode, robot bits very well hidden in ship mode.

It does help its also the best Cyclonus we have ever gotten.

I voted all Beast Wars Megatron, YEEEEEEESSSSS!

 

It was a fight between Cyclonus & Rodimus Prime for best Kingdom toy.  I still can\'t put Roddie down to transform & pose, a month after I got it. It is so great as a figure.  But as near-perfect as it is, it\'s a \"better than most\" Leader class toy at an expensive Commander class price point. For that level of fun, engineering and character representation, recent Optimus Prime, Ultra Magnus & Astrotrain all nearly performed as well at the Leader class price point.  Cyclonus on the other hand, is punching above its size at the Voyager class.  So my vote went to Cyclonus.  I think it\'s just fairer, as for the price of a Rodimus, I could\'ve got a Scourge, a Cyclonus and an Allicon.

I decided not the collect the BW figures due to shelf space limitations. So they might be more worthy of the best toy than my choices though, especially Primal looks so much fun too.

 

The voting wasn't organized by BotCon. The Hall of Fame stuff was always handled directly by Hasbro's PR firm.

 

Inferno and Cyclonus all the way!

 

Looked up the HOF to see who was already in it and I'm shocked Garry isn't. He was the Optimus for quite a while until Cullen reprised his role.

as for the toyline poll, I wish they included 86 but they didn't, so I went with Cyclonus. Also went with Airazor, she and Dinobot had a decent thing in Kingdom.

 

The real people inductees are the only aspect of the HOF that holds my interest anymore. Garry Chalk would be a good choice, he was the lead actor of the franchise for so long. I'd also suggest:

• Ford Kinder & Anne Bryant - composers of the G1 theme
• Bob Forward & Larry DiTillio - Story editors for Beast Wars, which was both a great show and the birthplace a lot of the key TF mythology.
• Aaron Archer - Guided the brand through a long and creatively diverse period. I think he's been away from Hasbro long enough now that awarding him wouldn't look too self-congratulatory.

 

Tickles me they have options for Pipes and Slammer that they havent even officially announced yet and we have only seen via 'other' channels. They need to sort it out ffs.

Hall of Fame stuff that isn't for the real people involved always feels silly to me. I'm not going to rain on anyone else's fun though.

I'd be way more into voting for toys if we also got to see the designers collect the award at the end. Although a part of that is just me wanting to see and hear more from the designers in general.
