If as been stated (and evidence shows that it is!) Transformers is starting to move away from G1, or at least endless versions of the same characters, I’d argue the retro line is the perfect place for reissues of guys like Earthrise Prowl or Kingdom Sideswipe.

By this time they’ll have been off shelves for a few years, they’ll still be in demand characters and it’s the easiest way to get them back out there on the shelves without taking away new tooling from the main line. You’d also have guys like Earthrise Sunstreaker with the potential of better paint, throw in G1 style boxes and they’d sell like hot cakes!

I honestly think it’s the best solution all round, we can still have ‘core’ G1 characters like Sideswipe, Mirage etc available to buy for whoever wants them, but now all the budget for new toys can go to a G1 Squeezeplay, Beast Wars Quickstrike or Energon Snowcat instead.

I’d even argue if they expanded the line to include other size classes (or even just Voyager class), this would be the perfect place to rerelease guys like Earthrise Dirge & Ramjet.

Agreed. I've got a feeling some of these hard to get guys will follow IH and Ratchet to SS 86, though.

This is exactly what I've been hoping for. Keep the Sunbow guys as reissues for a while and free up the main line to take some more risks.

Bro the feeling I got when I found out the KO even existed (at like $66 no less) only after it had sold been sold out everywhere and WJ went under...
    It hurt.

Perhaps! A full-on recurring reissue line for Generations would definitely be a major boon to collectors. I'm all for it, especially if it provides me an avenue to get my Coneheads!

I'm of the reverse mindset. I'd like to see PotP Battletrap redone, but as Cliffjumper-sized/small deluxe Battleslash and Roadtrap bots that combine into the bigger Battletrap. Likewise, I like to see the Siege Skytread get the same two small deluxes bots into one big deluxe/voyager treatment. At the higher price points, Hasbro should finally have the budget to do them right. And if some feel strongly that the individual components shouldn't have separate bot modes, then don't transform them into their individual bot modes.

But having said that, I think there are many other bots in far more need of decent modern figures.

I know it’s supposed to be a horse, but it looks more like a llama to me. Crap, now I want a llama Transformer! HasTak, make it so!

I choose to believe it is a llama, a interstellar space llama. I don't think that sounds silly, I think that's the coolest thing I've ever heard

Let’s not forget the new species the BM Dinobots add! My list is below! I didn’t duplicate dinosaur types from existing characters.

    G1

    Paddles - Elasmosaur
    Grimstone/Grimmaster/Kakuryu - Styracosaurus + drones for

    Beast Machines

    Dinotron - Pachycephalosaurus
    Airraptor - Archaeopteryx

    Armada

    Slapper - Ankylosaurus

    Movies

Slash - Velociraptor (who already got G1ified)
    Slog - Apatosaurus
    Strafe - two headed Pteranodon
    Scorn - Spinosaurus

I keep hitting the thumbs up multiple times but it only counts as one. I want to give it more! :lol

I would love a new Slash, especially bigger than the POTP one at maybe a mid-to-large Deluxe size.

It's a matter of the additional engineering getting in the way rather than straying from the character's original design. POTP Battletrap has a ton of obnoxious Battleslash/Roadtrap kibble that significantly hampers the combined mode, something that Skytread avoids because it a.) goes for the "two vehicles to one robot" approach and b.) is sold as one figure and not two.

That's a good list, but I'm going to ad the OG Headmasters and substract Sixshot.
TR Sixshot is basically perfect. There was a, minor gripe some people had with his knees, but a few lemons hardly necessitate a redo.
Chromedome, Brainstorm, and especially Skullcruncher otoh lacked accuracy and in the latter's case suffered from questionable design choices and severe hollow syndrome.

I wouldn't say no to a new Battletrap, but he's very low on the priority list. A reissue would be enough considering how expensive genuine copies are on the aftermarket.

There's a lot of characters on his list which don't need a redo ever.
Powerglide and Seaspray, Brawn and Outback and Beachcomber got mini-mp releases during PW. They're fine.
Sixshot doesn't need a redo either. Though Overlord could benefit from a more accurate toy.
But I'm right on board with the Headmasters needing a redo.
Someone posted something about voyager Headmasters and Targetmasters. After taking a look at the animation I guess the TR versions are on the small size and don't scale at all with WFC figures.
    Same goes for Flywheels.

If we must use the scale chart as justification for new Headmasters, it should be noted that Hasbro seems to be not following the JG1 scale charts as closely as the Sunbow ones, or at least adjusting how they related to the Sunbow characters; look at HasLab Star Saber, and how he's a good deal shorter than he should be if the JG1 scale charts were being strictly followed. It seems to me Hasbro is retroactively undoing the ridiculous scale creep of the Japanese series, and if that same adjustment is carried through all of the JG1 series, that would put the "appropriate scaling" for the 87 Headmasters much, much closer to their existing TR toys than to the ER Optimus height the Headmasters scale chart itself suggests.
