I know people think SS Grimlock is a "MP lite" but Slag REALLY is. It lacks the conspicuous open spaces of Grimlock, has improved articulation, looks great from almost every angle (I can forgive the tail on the back... nobody slammed FansToys for doing it either), and in general is awesome. I wish they'd figured out a way to make his beast mode's back legs thicker, but it's not a deal-breaker. I'm super stoked for the rest of the Dinobots.

I picked up a Gnaw over the weekend. I really like how solid these new transformers feel. I know the 20 dollar pricepoint on a deluxe seems high looking back on the days of RotF and $7.77 deluxes, But for the quality of these Studio series, I'll pay $20. So I got Wreck-Gar and Gnaw. I'm eyeing up Jazz and have my wife looking for Grimlock for me for the holidays. Is Rodimus worth looking at?

You're definitely not the only one. If you could leave the chest halves collapsed in for robot mode, I'd love it a lot more, but stock it won't work because of the transformation.

The dino back feet are hilariously small, too. I like that the dino hips disappear into his robot legs, and I like the robot mode leg proportions more than you do. (I didn't have the OG toy so that one looks like he's wearing moon boots to me.) I literally laughed out loud when I pulled the feet out though, like, "Okay, but where's the REST of them?!"

I love your reviews, though! Very thorough and insightful, and great pics.

    My school of Sharkticons grows.
I got one more coming from Amazon tonight.
With my Allicons and TR Sharkticons, should be enough to satisfy the inner kid in me. …. Maybe. :D

Definitely getting Gnaw, but probably just one... the older Sharkticons work fine as Sharkticons. Gnaw can be, like, their king or something.

That's what I'm thinking. Having a SS, TR and Quintesson Pit Gnaw would look pretty good.

Gnaw #2 and 3 arrived today and I’m spent.
Interestingly no CQ issues as with the first one’s loose shark fin and floppy lower jaw. Some Kiki joint tightener helped with that though.

I love both figures even though they're not as good as they could've been.

So close Hasbro....but you made some really questionable choices with these two.

His "shark mode" arms and legs look really wonky with where they're located. Had his arms been placed further down, and his legs placed further up, he would've looked more proportionate to me. Also, ball-jointed beast arms would've been great for more posing options.

I still love him though, and once my TCP order comes in, I'll have three more of him. :lol

That Sharkticon on the far right clearly has no idea that a little over half of the total carbohydrates in raw carrots are sugar (it's substantially higher if they are cooked just like tomatoes are).

I mean Wreckgar is a voyager and if he stood up straight on that scale chart, he'd have about the same height and mass as Swoop

Rodimus is pretty pricey but he is one of the most solid and fun mainline figures I've ever handled. He looks and feels amazing in both modes. The big, articulated hands are super nice, and he's very posable. The transformation is fun and intuitive yet complex enough that it doesn't feel underdone. There are some slight nitpicks here and there, but overall I feel like I got my money's worth

You do realize that Hot Rod has a built in flip-out welder, so you don't need to give him Blurr's?
