it just doesn't make sense though. If he has murdered wreckers or mercenaries (and possibly the elite guard), then that means he would have travelled across the universe. I highly doubt that they all would've already been on Earth.

Plus lets not pretend like logical consistency / continuity is something these filmmakers are suddenly going to care about.

Just remember the leak was a lazy copypaste from someone's fanfiction and theory. I remember hearing somewhere that time travel is somehow involved, but the TLK Autobot bullshit is completely false.

 

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if time travel is involved especially since Beast wars is in the film, if it is I definitely think they'll do the "twist" of scourge being Prime from a failed timeline

That's my thinking. Which IF they actually plan out a story(which is laughable because who's involved in the production) with sprinklings of Unicron or the mentioning of the Terrorcons serving a dark entity could be interesting.

 

Look I'm all for more better storytelling and substance over hollow and cheap fan service when it comes to this stuff but Jesus Christ on a bike could you give it a rest? Why are you getting so annoyed over every detail revealed about this movie? It's just a cool little nod and detail they added to his design. Like a story can still work and have this kinda thing.

 

yesterday I watched age of extiction again and as Michael Bay left a fight between Optimus and Lockdown in the background to focus on a stupid car race?

also i think Lockdown should had be with more mercenaries in that movie like Oli slick.

Because I'm looking at the bigger picture here.

Think about it - this is involving iconography only recently introduced into the franchise, specifically kingdom as well as the 'skull and crossbones' variation of the Autobot symbol for the Wreckers. These, along with the Terrorcon logo, wouldn't be included simply because of the director supposedly being a fan, it's far too new. This is clearly Hasbro-pushed stuff for inclusion to reflect the most recent stuff.

I'm worried that there's executive meddling going on from both sides, Paramont/Lorenzo and Hasbro.

It's like what has been said about every single detail about this film that seems a bit off. Small red flags on their own mean nothing, but collectively...the pattern is recognizable.

Agreed. Another detail/pattern that I'm noticing again is this trend of overvisualing characterization at the expense of actual characterization. In other words:

1)Scourge having all those badges representing his prowess at killing, on his grille. Wouldn't a quick flashback or a montage be a much better and economical way of getting that point across? Reminds me of bayverse Onslaught-and he (like many bayverse characters, not limited to bayverse decepticons) had no characterization and showed up, just to be quickly sliced-and-diced by Drift & Crosshairs;

2)Also reminds me of early concept art of bayverse Hound, where the artists literally put 7 red crosses on his robot mode to indicate he was filling in for Ratchet's role as a medic (even that wasn't really shown-sorry, shooting a laser at BB's neck while saying, "His vocal processors were damaged in battle" is forced and doesn't count). Yet, I don't recall seeing Hound showing any medical abilities. If someone can't convey characterization through actions, then that is a problem. We definitely deserve much better. We shall see. . .

I remember the TLK special features saying Hound was only given red crosses due to being the kind of guy who runs in to rescue people with more firepower. No mention of him being intended as a medic which shows how much brainpower went into TLK.
