The effect parts so far have seen way more use because there’s a decent amount of them, and I don’t regret getting him purely for them, as he’s a decent figure in hand, I still wish he was a Predacon but with 20% off I’d say he’s reasonably priced with the extra bloooshes

 

Why do they not have Slug in stock? I finally opened Grimlock on the weekend and now I need Slug and that Nonnef upgrade for him.

 

Are you, like me, also swimming in the irony that Hasbro are taking decomposed dinosaurs out of the Earth to make them into tiny models of their skeletons (that are also robots, and, uh, "weaponry") to then sell to us, and we are lapping them up?

I agree, but unfortunately once the rest of the Headmasters came out during Titans Return he had to vacate my collection due to my one figure per character rule

This is the only reason I got rid of him. If the others had been voyagers, I would have happily kept T30 brainstorm he was a great figure, but it would have bothered me way too much if he towered over his teammates like that. Plus, matching style of headmasters.

 

I think that one of the things about the T30 version is that his headmaster gimmick is a lot more involved unlike the cookie cutter Titans Return one. Makes him stand out, wish they did the others.

I've been having a wonderfully leisurely re-read of Elektra: Assassin recently. It remains my favourite Frank Miller work. How I wish that instead of everyone wanting to ape The Dark Knight Returns a whole generation had taken inspiration from the zany irreverence and joyful experimentation of this. As everyone from Grant Morrison to Ed Piskor has noted, The Dark Knight isn't an 'adult' work, it's adolescent. For me, with it's unclenched 'give a shit' attitude, Elektra: Assassin feels like the truly adult piece (and I'd probably add Hard Boiled in there for very similar reasons).
