My suggestion was a full combiner each year with limbs in between the regular MP releases. If it was one limb a year, I don’t think you would have too many people on board for that. Maybe simultaneous limbs each year for several combiners so in five years you would have five combiners. I don’t know what’s most ideal for everyone else, but I guess Raiden will be a good litmus test and kind of show us what they plan to do in the future. I’d love to see how Omega Supreme would be handled and if he would be in the MP or MPG line. I think it’s still too early to say.

My body is willing but my wallet isn't ready.:lol
Nothing would be better over this Raiden release schedule to still get Galvatron to start the anniversary. The seekers have spoiled me, I want a Decepticon every year now.

Yeah, I can't read. I must have thought you said "one component a year" or something. I may also have been influenced by the fact we've seen Shouki painted now, and the framework for his release has been revealed, and still nothing on whoever Trainbot #2 is going to be, which suggests to me that there will be several months between releases. Perhaps 18 months from beginning to end is more realistic.

So, one component a year: much too slow. One combiner a year: probably too fast.

I like the suggestion of one combiner per year. Plenty of time to spread out the cost over a year but still getting releases every several months to keep things interesting.
Even at one per year it's going to take a long time to get through them all. As G1 collectors start to age I wonder how many will stop collecting before their desired combiner gets completed.

    Think about that:

MPM: 1 or maaaaybe 2 at year (with the series popularity, 1 is the best bet)
BW MP: 2 at year (they have yet to complete the S1 cast)
G1 MP: Non combiner bot almost completed.

Now, making the main line spinoff (this is not like MPM, i added them in the equation because resources to be made are used, and takara relases them using a masterpiece slot) open the possibilities to release more repaints in the classic line in the meantime.
With MPG you can have the regular combiner plus the g2/diaclone variant in the same year.

Adding 12 slot filled with almost six new g1 character at year, leaved from the G1 classic line, could guarantee more classic repaint (black ironhide, g1 toy optimus, bumblebee variants) in less time.

I really hope train bot does not affect the other mainline MP releases. Hopefully it will be:

    G1 MP-2
    MPM-2
    BW-2
    MPG-2

    Ideally for me:

Even months = MPG release so 6 per year (one combiner assuming we're starting with the 6 bot combiners)
Odd months = 4 new MP G1 molds and a couple repaints to round out the year.
    Total = 10 new molds and 2 repaints a year !?!

But then I'm impatient. Any way they do it it seems like it will be a big step up from the current level of output. 2021 was two new molds (Starscream and Skids) plus 3 repaints (Seekers and Crosscut). 2020 was 3 new molds and 4 repaints while 2019 included 5 new molds and 2 repaints. Have there any years that beat 2016 with 7 new molds? Hoping that the October 7 MPG announcement will clear up the plan for the MPG release schedule and not just show off Shouki with no advertised plan for what comes after.

Besides Skywarp, Cliffjumper, Skyfire and Shouki, I'm not expecting more than one other G1 Masterpiece release next year. I'm counting on a second Trainbot. Hope that I'm wrong though and that we'll see more G1 Masterpiece releases next year.

I really think Raiden is going to run along as it’s own schedule. 3Ps can stretch the release over 2-3 yrs from 1st bot to last, Takara doesn’t have that luxury due to them trying to sell their product to the wider Japanese collector base. I just don’t see you working in 6 bots who you want to appeal to people who may not be necessarily into Transformers because you want to release some characters they could care less about. The more I think about for this they will have something for Wonderfest, will see Shouki first on the 7th and hopefully in some form all 6 and some form prototype or render of Raiden for Wonderfest. I wouldn’t be surprised if the delay was having everything lined up from jump so they could release these and continue with the mainline. We already know via leaks, interviews, and Shin’s mystery MP that they’re sitting on a couple already.

TBH, I think I would only be in for Devastator.

We still don't even have an actual confirmation of an MP CJ. We also haven't received any updates on MP Skyfire. What we have confirmed for 2022, so far:

    MP Nightbird Shadow
    MP Crosscut
    MP Shouki

I do feel bad for the BW MP fans, as they are experiencing what the G1 MP fans experienced in 2018.

I was idly thinking about who Takara will do next for the MPG line once Raiden is finished. Did they confirm two years/one Trainbot every four months, roughly? It actually gives us a decent timetable, presuming they won't start Combiner #2 before all Trainbots are out. Anyway, Devastator seems the obvious go-to, but then I thought: what about Reflector? Also technically a combiner, this is probably the subline he'll end up in. MPG-02 Reflector summer/fall 2023?

I love that idea! MPG Reflector sounds great. One life sized camera that splits into 3 main components and accessories. $200-ish? It fits the G format of the line and we get it all at once.

I mentioned this in the Raiden thread, I could not find any official source confirming that schedule.
I think the product numbering would be sequential, with each combiner getting their own number. So a Reflector would be MPG-07 at the earliest.
But, of course, Takara and numbering are unpredictable :)

Edit: Found a source for the 2 years, though nothing further.

My gut instinct is, they will re-released a BW Megatron after Optimus Primal to fill the time until the next new mold for Beast Wars if any, are release.

The Hasbro/Takara team will be very busy with the different MP lines, awesome for fans. Six trainbots, Haslab Victor saber (I understand this is not MP but will still take resources), rumors of MP Jetfire, and MP Cliffjumper, the release of Nightbird, Senator, Reboost, Skids, and Skywarp.

That's not counting what's in store for the upcoming Transformers movie, that'll be interesting... what Masterpiece will come out of that.

    Happy Monday!

Yeah that's the big unknown for me. Is MPG for the next 2 years just Raiden 1 - 6? I'm hoping the separation of name means that it's not slowing down the mainline. Still waiting on the next BW MP, sigh.

I'm not totally convinced this line isn't a one off, and would probably prefer if the other combiners appeared in the mainline. Raiden looks to be a hybrid like Skids, totally accurate to scale algmodes, toon bots and a stylized Raiden. Add in the fact were looking at probably 13 inches he wont even scale with the chug versions of his 2 rivals Devastator and Predaking.

Probably Raiden is one off, but in size.
For Raiden, takara has respected the component mode scale, and for now, we can agree for that.
For alt mode, they choose (for train collector purpouse) to stick with a tiny train scale (the HO), so we will have A LOT of mass shifting during transformation.
Now, the combiner height will suffer for that decision.
For future combiner, i think that we will have something very similar to the UW giftset combiner, or the MMC combiner height, i just espect some panel rotation to change leg color in bruticus, for example.

Thought I would update my chart. Even though Cliffjumper is probably next year, just gonna keep it to what is officially announced.
