The more I look at him the more I like the design. So many fine details and nods to the G1 toy and animation guide. Excellent sculpting. I'm in, pre-ordered but will keep MISB and will sell at the first sign of any fake-part shenanigans. From having my face glued to the official images it seems highly unlikely, but you never know.

(As a side note, phew talk about timing, I'm really glad I'm very close to finishing my collection, with only a few more mainline releases to get.)

Why is it even $200 for it? I mean all 6 Trainbots would be $1200.

If ordering through AJP, it’s much less than $200 USD. I’m currently sitting at $190 CAD shipped (not including duties).

Doesn't AJP calculate and add import duties at checkout via their global service?

It's not, just pre-order and you'll pay around 900 USD in total like the rest of us. ;)

Yes. But I did not include that for two reasons.
One, it keeps the total to just the figure and the shipping for a more accurate comparison to other stores who do not charge the duties up front.
Two, the last order where I paid the duties at AJP up front, they were refunded to my account. So assuming that happens again, I have those funds recouped and can use them to partially pay for the next figure.

If I’m on the receiving end of the $900 it’s definitely not better than $1200.

But the spending end? Oh hells yeah it’s better! :D

I guess it all depends on what country you live in and how they deal with duties. Depending what is coming through, Canada Customs sometimes doesn’t bother with the duties for some things between $20 and a few hundred CAD. Admittedly, it is a bit of “luck of the draw” though.

It's still way too much for six carbot sized figures.

If you consider Ironhide is a carbot, then sure, it’s 6 carbot sized figures.
