Started up Perfect Strike Freedom. Too lazy to do full repaints but I'll do detail painting like the little missiles here.
For those that have managed to get them, how do Barbataurus and Perfect Strike Freedom scale with other HG Gunpla?
Barbatuarus is a little taller because of the extended waist. Target Circle has a $10 off $50 purchase, and $25 off $100 purchase on toys until Tuesday.. which these kits qualify for. Just came back from getting the prices adjusted. Two and Four per transaction split to get both deals.
Ah, thanks. Don't have any IBO kits although this might become my first. A centaur Gundam is just a really interesting idea.
Needed a break, so I built the tr-6 Woundwort. It's so weird, and I love it! Will probably go back later in the week and give some of the smaller details some paint.
Finally got around to taking care of a few things First, I decided to go ahead and build the American RX-78-2 I nabbed yesterday (last one on the shelf!) I mean, compared to the Revive HG Granddaddy, it's the inferior...but only just. The HGUC is just slightly better in articulation, detail, has the beam saber effect parts, and the shield handle is an actual handle over some random gray two-prong brick. However, the Easy Grade is a significantly simpler take on the design and still gets pretty damn close. All I've done on American Grandpa here is black paint on the head vents and around the eyepiece to make the red stand out more (might go back and paint the eyes a brighter shade of red to make them stand out more), but beyond that and a little sanding to mitigate nubs, this is pretty much a stock build and it looks fantastic. The build itself is surprisingly innovative and takes a different approach to how almost all RX-78-2 builds go in the chest. Absolutely worth picking up for the build alone and how different it is. But the biggest benefit is one that has yet to be realized. This is basically the 30 Minute Missions Grandaddy. The same system of clip joints is utilized. Meaning you could use 30 Minutes Missions accessory packs that involve replacement limbs. I want a Zaku II or a GM in this style so I can replace an arm with that ridiculous giant forearm cannon option. I also finally cleaned up my build on the Airmaster Burst. On the left is the original non-grade 1/144 I built ages ago, literally my first 'Gundam' Gunpla, and that has custom paint because for some reason the box had the wrong colors. The HGAW on the right is color accurate (maybe missing some of the white but it looks great as-is so I'm not bothered). Amazing what a difference nearly 20 years makes. There's also the SD Knight Gundam, which comes with option parts to give it a centaur appearance.
Just some minor work tonight cleaning up my accent lining and loose fitting parts on the leg thrusters and skirts. I still need to finish painting and detailing the back sides of the thruster units. I'm thinking about changing the paint on those dark gray trenches on the outside of the thruster pods to Gunship Gray to match the rest of the surface area.
Need advise and well your assistance. I recently purchased a Robot Spirits RX93 Nu Gundam and MSN04 Sazabi and applied the RG 1/144 decals on them. Being a noob on this, I gotta say I got them applied above average below excellent for a first timer. But I want the decals to stick like forever so question is, can I apply Mr. Mark Setter MS232 on them? I do not want to damage my MS and those decals really make the figs awesome. Appreciate your inputs.
I was thinking of the Planet Armors, but creating my own based on other kits. For example, I was tempted to make one based on the Advanced Hazel..
Look into getting a matte spray like Testor's Dullcote and be sure to mask any clear plastic (dullcote will fog clear plastic). Admittedly, I've yet to still do this on my own RG Nu and Sazabi but that's normally how I do waterslides with my train stuff.
Mark Setter's gonna do jack shit if you're using the decals that came with the RG kits since they're not waterslides.
I got them separate. They are water slides. I used them on the assembled R Damashi Sazabi The decals actually fit this figure fine. Only thing left are the fannel decals
Less boring and more awesome than I originally thought. Love how the gimmick is like the kit has a 1/100 scale backpack or something like that with the Dragoons as the leading edges of the wings and fins.
The whole idea of making the late-series suits resemble their predecessors isn't something you'd think would work in practice but, gotta say it ain't half bad here. It looks like the railguns that were moved from the hips to behind the head aren't functional though since they're pointed backwards and can't flip around? Is the gimmick there that where the Strike Freedom shot lasers every possible direction in front of it, the Perfect Strike Freedom fires behind it?
