Who knew watching numbers climb on a counter would be so exciting!

 

There's some incorrect information here. HeroQuest had 16 stretch goals - one every $200k from $1.2M up through $4.0M, with a second bonus at $3.0M. The final total at the end of the campaign (6 Nov. 2020) was a bit over $3.7M, so it fell short of the two final goals - an extra gargoyle at $3.8M, and an extra expansion designed by Joe Manganiello, complete with a quest book, a unique dragon miniature, and additional tiles for the board.

As far as we knew, that was the end of the story, until this tweet by Manganiello a month ago:

What he reveals is that the entire expansion is being included when the sets ship. The quest book, the dragon, the tiles, everything. It's a full inclusion of the final tier, even though it wasn't achieved in the campaign. Keep in mind that this was also right around the same time (might have even been the same day) that they announced the project would begin shipping later this month, so it truly was an out-of-the-blue announcement at the 11th hour that no one was expecting.

As for the other tier that was missed, someone asked about that on Twitter. That tweet has since been deleted, but you can see the official response here:

So we don't know for sure yet, but they seem to be hinting that the extra gargoyle might end up being included as well.
