Got a question. Does Maketoys sell the individual faces for Despotron? Or are there any 3D prints available?

I got Despotron super cheap but he's missing all his faces apart from his default, neutral face.

 

Got a used, loose copy with missing optional parts for cheap. Pretty scuffed. Any suggestions on how to touch up the paint?

Agreed, that is a stellar price. This is my display MP megatron, as I just couldn't stand the high-pockets Urkel-pants official figure. In contrast, Despotron is so beefy and intimidating.

 

I love the fact that he is still relevant representation of Megatron.

 

I finally bought one. $78 with Tax-ass and shipping.

 

I love Despotron! MP-36 is cool if you want the accurate TV cartoon version but the Maketoys one is the monster that I imagined from the movie.

 

Wow. That's great price for this figure.

 

I love my MP megs (well, actually the THF KO of MP Megs, but same deal), but at $60 I'm sorely tempted to get this guy just for the hell of it.

 

It makes me wonder if TFsouce has a shit ton of him and it didn't sell or if they somehow got more inventory in? It almost seems like around this time they always push out MT figure out of nowhere?

 

i bought him last year on the BF deal. Had a knee joint broken out of the box & they refunded me because they said there were no replacement/exchange units left at the time.

 

So that technically mean MT is still making it then right? Hmmmm... This is interesting as I thought MT was out for the count or at least what many have been saying all along. I originally owned Despotron back when he was released and enjoyed that figure but overtime the ankles started getting weak over time and I eventually sold it.

 

It appears that MT has either been producing figures on the DL or they have been sitting on a lot of old stock and decided to release them sporadically. Some harder to find figures like their CD Powermaster Optimus Prime were suddenly available and abundant.

Meanwhile, their Coneheads and Headmasters are still in limbo. Maketoys is an enigma.

 

So, I’m finally ... pulling the trigger ... on this figure.

He’s in my stack. How do their BF sales work? Will it stay this price all week so I can see if there’s any more deals?
Or do I check out now?

 

I got one fairly recently too. I like his Bulk, though I do think there isn't really a perfectly matching Optimus for him as such, He might look "OK" with the overscale Classics one I guess.
Striker Manus would work if that overscale KO had ever been released (never saw it more than teased though). If Make Toys was still around I wouldn't say no to a flat grey repaint of this. Though I guess if they needed some money and only had access to existing mould there is a few things they could repaint to accrue so cash, was it ever established if Maketoys and Fansprojects was the same entity or just a related brand - as I always thought ; Make toys, Fansproject and Perfect Effect shared "a look" & I tend to display them together for that reasons (some Fanstoys things too).

Also I have to note when you do an image search a couple of pics show up of one wearing a stock and Supressor - did someone use the ones from the older MP Megatron upgrade or did someone make him a specific upgrade kit at some point ?

 

Yeah, Despotron is actually bulky and intimidating, a badass through and through.


As for what prime i have him "paired" with, its this guy. Magic Square Light of Freedom Prime (metallic)

 

@MINDVVIPE Holy shit Despotron and MS Prime really do go well together.!!! I remember seeing back then MP10 and Despotron but never with MS Prime. Man I just got TE01 bc I have up hunting down a MS Prime but that pic makes me wanna go on the hunt again lol

 

Yeah Despotron works great opposite MP-10 with Shadow Fisher upgrades and does pretty well with MS's OP too.
