I’d pay $250-$300 if they included a comparable Deathsaurus in this. I know that train has LONG since departed, just saying if they had done something like that then I’d have definitely participated.

As for living life while paying little attention to VS, there’s always the Legacy and SS86 offerings next year to help sooth the sting! (Of course then I’ll be complaining how shelves are bare at the stores and how preorders are pushed back, yet again. Sigh, first world problems.)

Shield possibly getting produced. Very tempting to order a second one.

Unless they want to pay absurd prices for him on the market. It’s their only option I’m afraid.

That’s usually how it goes if you miss a Haslab project. Or buy one on the secondary market

for those that feel $180 is overpriced, wait till next year when it finally ships. it'll be going for $400 or more.

Unicron is about triple in price. the Amazon exclusive Ramjet and Dirge are around x7 the price. many of the other exclusives are going for x2 the price.

which is why i backed 3, the extra 2 will be sold to cover the cost of the one I keep, plus a small profit aka interest for my 1 year investment of $540 + $40 taxes.

Probably not much for the biggest toy maker in the world considering it'll be a single piece on the sprue. It's a bit much demanding the fans front over half a million additional dollars on top of funding the base project just to unlock a freakin' shield accessory. Especially when the set is basically a voyager class and a commander class ($30 + $80) plus 2 micromaster repaints ($10) for not $120 but $180. It also sports the same empty unpaneled hollowed gaps that plagues the main line now as noted by PrimevsPrime, so it doesn't appear it will be punching above its weight class.

That's a pretty major character to miss out on. And rereleasing it later would be a slap in the face to the backers. Maybe a cheaper VS would be made for retail in that scenario to keep this VS as the crowning jewel version.

There's absolutely nothing saying they can't subsequently release this at retail. It'd have a lot of potential to piss off people who bought it, especially those who've bought extra for re-sale but they could do it. They can also release a repaint of this or a whole new mould if they so choose.

It's far from a certainty but this is the HasLab project most likely to be made less "special" in the future.

If a new Victory Saber is ever rereleased for retail then I hope it’s not too soon. If it was like 5 or so years after Haslab then I would t mind it too much.

Hasbro has no obligation to appease the secondary market.

If they ever did reissue this for general audiences, I wouldn't have an issue as it'd likely be the same price it was now. If not more.

We need 1,505 backers to reach tier 3 and fully have Haslab Victory Saber backed.

same for me, plus the lower price and they take up less space which means more figures

You say that, but they're also under no obligation to do a rerelease. The only Haslab so far that is going to see a retail release is Hero Quest, so assuming that there'll be a second release is honestly setting oneself up for disappointment

It is tempting to buy a couple extras to sell later.

Hasbro absolutely reissues rare black series figures and the like all the time, often times even better than they were upon their initial release which always tanks the secondary market prices. They don't care, for good or ill. Frankly, as much as hasbro loves repaints, I don't see why they don't do it with Unicron and the like considering all the tooling and investment is already paid for.
