Through their TMall store, which is sold out - https://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?s...e&abbucket=10&sku_properties=134942334:109101 or via the aftermarket - Pre-sale !! 52Toys Megabox Limited BB-37 BB37 VAPORWAVE action Toy COOL | eBay but you you never know, it could come to one of the other retailers. Both BBTS (well never-ending preorder) and TCP got the Monkey King.
I'm certain they'd almost all find homes separately if not, especially the clear boxes. ::cough cough::
Looks like Show-Z has sold out of Raph and Mikey (again - for now? who knows when they get restocks).
All of them are a pain to pose, I think it just comes with the scale but I love them none-the-less. Cool to see they actually fit in the Power Loader, I never tried (Hexa Gear figures are the same scale so plenty of options available.)
1/24 scale I believe. I've been wanting to checkout a Hexa Gear figure (for the power loader), but they seem a little lacking in color variation without paint. Yui's water slide eye decals almost broke me. I already had Ryuen and I enjoyed the build and figure, but I mostly picked up Yui just for the power loader. I'm not sure if their male figure would fit in, maybe without the armor. The male body is about a head taller than the female. Overall I would highly recommend the Number 57 figures, they are a lot of fun and can be picked up pretty cheap on amazon.
I should try and see which of all these figures work with it, I have almost all of them as far as I know, just still working on setting stuff up after moving to a new place. Is that something people would be interested in? Pictures of figures that fit within the Megabox Power Loader?
So torn on Vaporwave. It does look great in its own right, but I’m disappointed that the iridescent sheen from the box art doesn’t come through on the actual figure.
I don't like handling the HexaGear figures; but the No57 figures have solid handling I enjoy. I have that female on in my BBTS PoL but I'm holding off on shipping until a few more things come in if I can. She'll be my 4th No57 figure and I enjoy all 3 dudebots I have so far. I don't have the 52Toys PowerLoader but it looks appealing here.
So more in stock (again), looks like maybe 9 of each (that's the maximum allowed to add to cart). But price creep starting now - $39.99 each.
Hi, everybody. I'm a 1st-time TFW poster, 1st year Beastbox fan/collector and have been reading through this forum for a little while, so I thought I'd finally open an account to stop in and say hello. First of all, the Beastbox & Megabox lines are really great, aren't they? Second, a little bit about what led me to collecting Beastboxes and eventually to this board: I saw a review for Ironclaw on YouTube early this year, and I was completely blown by that guy! The beveled edges, color scheme, articulation, little "add-on" features (like the hatch, backpack/canister, etc, and very charming box mode are just perfect... initially these reminded me of the "containerized" play theme of those Starcom toys from the 80's. Had a lot of Transformers when I was a kid and various other mech/robot toys through the years, but at the same time, this is something totally different – of course I had to find out more. So I put together a list of the line, which figures I was most interested in, who had what for sale, and started placing orders around February. The very first one I got was a Helldiver. VERY charming little dude! To be clear, I'm not into all of the figures, and with such a diverse line that is probably as it should be -- not everything is going to appeal to everyone. But I do find 52Toys to be an interesting toymaker, and they have a very unique voice in the industry. At that, here are some things I really dig about their figs: Their designs are very thoughtful, and it shows in their character creation: they really get into the physicality and "caricature" of each fig. The necessary joints to realistically portray bird wings or a shark's torso, the gorilla's curved spine/huge forearms, the way penguins huddle for warmth & how that works as the box mode, etc. These guys have a great sense of humor. I think it's absolutely hilarious that they produced a kangaroo with boxing gloves; the "beige box"-colored Jojobs code monkey, a first aid/ambulance themed hippo called Painkiller, etc. One thing that interests me is, 52Toys uses a lot of western pop culture/tropes with their figs, so I've been really curious if Chinese generally "get" the same innuendos that we do on the other side of the globe, if they have an art director who's knowledgable about that stuff and plays it up for a foreign (to mainland China) market, or where that comes from. They're bold and inventive with designs and colors. Toxic Horn's color scheme doesn't seem like an obvious choice for a bull, but it looks fantastic; one of the best non-exclusives, IMO. Firmhand is a complete mess of color and design, but that's the point of that fig & there's beauty to its chaos. Who would've thought a hercules beetle needed jet wings? It doesn't, but 52Toys did it anyway and it's frickin' awesome. IceQube combining into box mode with magnets, etc, etc. There are many unique character choices for Beastboxes. A crawfish is far from an obvious one to kick out to market for a robot design, and having southern roots, that was one more thing that completely sold me on this line. Probably most importantly: I really think 52Toys' designers have a lot of fun creating these things, and it shows in their products. They really seem to enjoy working with different materials, production methods etc and finding neat/organic ways to incorporate those into the figs – such as a mech spider having a winch and hook. Anyway. I could go on -- sorry for the long-winded post; just some thoughts I wanted to share with fellow collectors. And I hope I'm not repeating what may have already been said here, too much. I'd be interested to know what forum members have in their collections, what led you to Beastboxes, which ones are your favorites – all that fun stuff.
