This is exactly what I am doing. Though I wish it was like $60 or something like KO of old, but if these are direct copies paint all which they look to be I won't care. Takara got the full price for their starscream, I sleep easy knowing I haven't totally mugged them off.

 

Except it has the third point and it's upside down so that's unfortunate. If it were one of those KOs without the symbols, people would have the choice between having it accurate or having it right.  

 

Yes Model Seeker MP-13 KOs were $90-$100 shipped from Chinese sellers when they first came out. That's what the highest price of this KO should be.

I had all the mp-11 kos (straight kos, bb7, ym) and the originals and some were better than the originals and others were utter garbage. I haven't bought a ko in a while but I imagine they've gotten better over time. I've bought all the mp-52 molds and while I'm happy with both the ones I've got (moreso Thundercracker than Starscream) the one thing that doesn't sit right with me is the colour. I think the grey is too dark and the DS is a much better colour. So I might get this KO and sell the original.

Those were two or three years ago and had far fewer parts.

it's mostly curiosity for me... i'm ~$100-125 curious, but not $250 curious.

 

pretty cool about the lighter shade of grey. The decepticon symbols are stickers, right? no way they just put them on a KO

 

The direct copies of the 4th parties always have the logos painted and the boxes are the same as the originals, the last one that came out was Hound's ko.

Not necessarily. They might share most of the same parts but who is to say the paint process in a different factory is identical.

 

IMO I would pay 125 to experience the level of engineering that MP52 has. After all, I paid $200 for MP Megatron and I felt like the transformation, along with the quality of the 2 modes was a $200 experience. Judging from transformation, and 2 modes; I would put MP52 on the same level as Megs, so I could see myself paying 200 as well, but definitely not retail. So assuming the KO is at least of comparable quality to the official, I think half price is still a fantastic deal. You might have different goals than me though, I plan on transforming Starscream back and forth. I prefer 52 over the DS01 because the transformation seems smoother, and the jet mode looks better.

 

Well damn, now I'm torn between a K.O mp52 seeker set or deformation space's ...that's how good DS is lol.
