Oh thats interesting. I have the same chart [but with my color guides]. I cant remember if its something Nick had mocked up or something I cut together [he did individual sheets for each character, too]

Man he's gonna look so good in blue.

Very nice; love the more realistic colours that still echo their original looks. (Although I wouldn't mind if Slag's skin was greenish to reference his G2 version. :D )

Great artwork btw also just curious do you know why you or Nick decided to change Grimlocks helmet design and what the inspiration was?

A question more for Nick, I think, I can't say for sure! Between spotlight shockwave and Max dinos they all got a little tweaked/upgraded here and there. Just artists perogative I guess!

Ah either way again great artwork and coloring some of my favorite shots from MD - they really helped us compare PX's Grim. to his comic design.

Do you get to make any input on a character's designs? Any time you've strongly recommended/vetoed an idea?

Hopefully PX will let us know something at TFCon at the end of this month. Are there any other upcoming figures known from them (not counting redecos of this)?

Other than an MTMTE version no but I got a feeling we will see the MTMTE version at the TFcon 3p panel and hopefully a tease of another Dynobot (maybe Victory Leo to go with their SS) and a FOC/WFC figure

As a colorist? Not especially. Most of that's all settled beforehand on the pencillers end, if it's needed at all. But I've made my own stamp with some tweaks to color schemes here and there, where I can get away with them. (stormbringer primes silver ears/yellow eyes, and SB Megatron's black helmet, mtmte magnus' red thighs, Grimlocks red hands *cough cough* haha) I mean I effectively invented the color schemes for the dinobots here. Not exactly a glamorous contribution but *shrug*

Looking at the art, it looks like this figure's robot mode "ears" are a little too big and long. The back portion of the T.rex head also isn't as tall as the toy. The neck fits in better in the art. Of course these are drawing and not a physical object, so I'm sure there's some variations.

I don't see anything to be ashamed of, I quite like the Maximum Dinobot colours. It makes sense there would be so much grey/silver since they originally were covered in organic material.

What were some things you wanted to try out but couldn't? Or do you have some dream colours you'd like to try?

I can't think of any big stand-outs, for the most part I've gotten to do all I've wanted to, really!

I mean, I tried to incorporate some lime green accents into MTMTE Nightbeats color scheme way back (it fits nice with the blue and yellow, imo), that I got some pushback on but nothing too terribly drastic, hah.

I just think it’s insanely cool that one of the people who helped bring these comic designs to life is here with us excited about toys

I’d also like to note that the red hands are excellent and an awesome aesthetic choice by the colorist

Well, looks fantastic to me in the video. As I’m not generally one to worry about exacting fidelity the source material, the colors look great, especially with the default hands (to me, red fists look a little garish on the figure). I’m thrilled.

Megs's helmet should be black more often.
