If we're guessing he's going to be around voyager height (6-7"), just like the CW/UW Constructicons. Raiden combined should be close to Devastator's height, right?

Well if they're about voyager-leader height with a combined mode around the size of CW Devastator I might bite, though it seems they'll be too rich for my blood so will probably end up waiting for a good discount or KOs depending on quality

 

No doubt! I love trains, and there’s no way they wouldn’t be in train mode at least part of the time…probably around the Christmas tree with lights on them…haha…

I wasn’t planning to pick these up but this set of pics changed my mind. Shouki looks amazing and not as bulky as I thought he would be initially. I hope Devastator is next.

 

Done some quick cad, based on the package length of 30cm given on AJP being equivalent to the section of railway he comes with.
Obviously that doesn't take inner packaging into account so these are only rough estimates and I've rounded them up because, fuck decimals.

Train mode 23cm/9" long
Bot mode 15cm/6" high
Torso mode, 8cm/3" square and 15cm/6" wingspan

Again, all only rough estimates and the package size may even be completely misleading but he looks to be about as tall as studio scourge but obviously much bulkier and far more complex/detailed etc.

 

I think I'm happy to get Shouki even if I don't end up completing the set. As the leader, he was the only one who really got much spotlight, plus his design's cool. At worst, I can sell him off later.

 

Wow this looks better than I expected. Very curious to see how they scale with other MPs. I'm priced and sized out for this set but I'll be cheering on from the sidelines.

A couple of points

1) In the Headmasters cartoon, the Trainbots consider Earth, specifically Japan as their birth place rather than Cybertron because they were built and designed in Japan hence why they have Japanese names, and their designs are more “Japanese super robot” even though they do come from the same line as Devastator, Optimus, Ironhide and others.

2) I like my robots with some diversity in their shapes and sizes. I can’t wait to see the full team and have them stand with Rodimus or Ultra Magnus or Prowl (he’s my city commander) or parked with my Metroplex in their combine train modes. Just like us humans, Cybertronains or Transformers, toys or whatever can come in all sizes. I’m also not a big scale guy. As long as Raiden can stand side by side with UW Devastator or Predaking, I’m happy.

3) I too hope the QC is up to par and Raiden can stand and pose. I have faith in takara and their design team. Been a fan of the trainbots since I got the whole series on vhs. I was floored when they came in the screen. A whole new team of combining Autobots! I wanted them right that second. The Decepticons always had more Combiners than the Autobots so they level the playing field a bit.

 

Go buy Moon studios, then.

 

The railway looks like it splits in the middle so it comes in two parts. It might be longer than 30 cm.
