That’s a shame, missed opportunity imo.

 

wouldn't you want the bottom portion of the stand to be solid color and the top to be clear...to make it look more like the fig is flying? My brain hurts and I don't see the point of this.

 

Between the Optimus colors and the lack of a trailer to cover up most of its sins, this mold is done no favors with this overpriced release.

Why paint this figure so well...it\'s very flawed on its own.

 

I could see this working had it been the plan to begin with, and he had a trailer instead of that… whatever that is. In other words, in order to honor the original releases of OP and UM in the 80s, being that the cabs were the exact same toy.

But as it stands (no pun intended), easy pass.
They couldn’t even give him a proper Ion Blaster.

 

Such a nice paint job on such a bad figure… really surprised they didn’t use the ER cab for this, I'd probably consider overpaying for a premium paint job on that mold (like those killer silver legs and yellow arm arrows!) – this mold looks like Optimus wearing a Halloween costume of himself.

But the fact they didn’t bother to swap out Magnus’ gun for Optimus’ though makes it feel pretty low-effort.

This is so weird... the paint job is good but like, why? The stand looks neat but... why??

 

I wonder when this will become available. Hopefully Pulse will sell them.

 

I thought it said ER Optimus Prime was going to be repainted into Ultra Magnus, not the other way around?  Easy pass.

 

Gah. So close. This but with a similar trailer making a good Powermaster Optimus Prime. Wasn't a fan of the Titans Return or Takara Legends versions.

Seeing the full pictures, a proper paint job does this mold wonders even if it's still not great. I don't understand the point of a tensegrity stand that basically just looks like a regular display stand though? It should've been designed to look like a hovering bit of Cybertronian architecture or something.

I wonder if the other figures will be new repaints, or Japanese releases of ones we've already gotten? If that ER Prime is one that fixes me issues with both the ER and Netflix versions I might go for it.

 

It really… doesn’t look that good. The mold int to great to begin with and this doesn’t fix any problems.

The stands, however, are pretty interesting.
