Maybe an odd question but has anyone any experience with those Miniforce Transformers? They seem to be from some Chinese Kids show and I've come across them on AliExpress but some of them seem pretty cool :)

Of the stuff I've pre-ordered, I'm really looking forward to having Pipes, Road Ranger and Puffer on a shelf with Huffer and for some reason I have really high expectations for SG Jetfire.

Really excited to get my first look at a Stunticon, seeing that first one is really going to give a lot of clues as to whether those guys will work as a combiner. The E-Hobby (Road) Hauler has been a mild obsession of mine for a few years now, so I really hope an affordable alternative is coming from the Earthrise Grapple mold next year.

Well today has been eventful, had an in-person on campus today, got back to accommodation and picked up Shattered Glass Megs only to get a phone call that my Great Nan has passed back home. Not really sure how to feel, just feel in a state of purgatory I guess.

It's the Cromhorn Forest Type, a takara exclusive. These energon terrorcons are lovely. Got battle ravage last year and it made me want all of the little buggers. I'm gonna have to de headmaster superlink Scorponok just so he can have his crew around him proper.

@rikkomba if apollux's does go, i can sell you my cw sky lynx. I part forgot about him when i made my sale list and part thought no one would want him due to the er version. Since i got the 60 quid er skylynx, the cw one can be moved on.

@Strafe28066 damn, sorry to hear that. My condolences.

Watched Man Of Steel for the first time since it came out. Enjoyed it more than i remembered, but the destruction porn is still way over the top and makes bayhem look extremely tame in comparison.

Meant to post these yesterday but forgot:

My ID box o’loot arrived, wasn’t really enthused by the sale but I still made up enough for free shipping.

    395F0C60-F017-40AF-B619-FFA573E026A9.jpeg

Couple of Amazon deliveries as well

    32F7E7CB-D7E9-4CA5-9A02-C15393D201D8.jpeg

The MC Skeletor/Panthor will be added to my unopened MC MOTU pile of stuff (which inc. Castle Grayskull) but the Land Shark was bought due to pure enablement on this thread and a good price.

I planned to limit my MOTUO collection to figures I had as a child. I didn’t have LS and can’t recollect it in any memory so was gonna pass, really glad I didn’t as this thing is a massive unit and looks gloriously goofy!

    Cheers guys ;)

I just can't get on with MoS. The first five minutes made me really hopeful. Actually, considering his chest symbol and the movie telling you about it, what came after was bleak. The stuff with Costner was terrible. It all could have worked if he'd grown into his role and been happier doing so, giving him an actual arc.

I know nothing about Elvira but if that ever hits £20 or so I'm having it just for the second headsculpt and goblet alone.

i'd be interested in buying Botropolis if still available & Skywarp but may I ask does he have all his accessories included please ?.

    {comment edited as I realised I could see the image if I looked at the page in another brower - it was a blank question mark in my usual one - so now I've seen it I edited the comment}

Am really excited by the prospect of Menasor, I actually like the UW version I got, but one that features more engineering and presumably extra joints and articulation really appeals.

Your commuting musings are brought to you by the fact that the MP Shouki pics look the absolute business, but I’m not sure I’m up for that level of financial commitment over an undetermined time frame.

"Oh Trypticon, Galvatron may have abandoned you on this world, but Lord Zarak won't make the same mistake..."

-The Transformers S04E08: "Decepticon Dawn" (3/5)

(I was pleased with how well the weathered texture on Trypticon and the layered clouds worked, so I decided to forgo the TV screen effect from now on. All of them are too heavy and overwhelm the image. I'd like just the border, but all come with a screen effect which either darkens or desaturates the image. I'll try to solve it at the weekend)

That. I have zero connection to Raiden (a name that seems to have spread around a bunch of different Anime characters so even that makes him a "which one are you talking about? jobber) but the idea of a couple of Train Bots to add to the variety on a shelf appeals to me - especially as they haven't put in an appearance since Rail Racer etc 20 years ago.

But I won't be needing six of them at Takara prices thanks. And TT timescales.

If Pipes/Slammer are going to be next year that's a pisser, but with the World as it is right now what can we do? Not a lot.

And with that I'm trying to recall what there actually is to come before year's end......Black Zarak and maybe Tonytron if Amazon are right on the availability?

Man of Steel. I gave it a rewatch too (it jumps to the front of the recommendations list and I'm too lazy to scroll past it....) and I don't like it any more than I did last time I tried.

Cavell was right for the part, and visually certainly had a lot going for him, but the material was pretty poor and you can only work within what that Objectivist Twat wants within his film.

The stuff with Costner was offensively bad for a character that's supposed to be about hope and grounded decency. And while I'm less disturbed by the wanton destruction than a lot of people seem to have been - it's probably pretty much what would happen when a bunch of demi-gods throw down in a crowded cityscape - it all felt very empty leading to that godawful ending.

And that pretty much set the tone for what followed. Pure dreck all the way through to the Snyder-Cult. Which would be as depressing as the Bayverse if I didn't know that within a decade it will all be reset, washed away and Warner's have the chance to try again. Hopefully this time they get a Fiege and not a Johns/Snyder to helm it all.

Be careful who you give your billion dollar franchise to Kids, nothing is a slam dunk anymore.

As a character, Fangry feels like a missed opportunity. His tech spec bio is just brimming with potential. A mutinous wee terror with serious anger management issues? Feels like classic Furman fodder. Alas Fangry was introduced in one of Budiansky's more flaccid issues. And even then Brisko got more time on page than Fangry. Sure he started to get a little more page time towards the end of Furman's US run, with one memorably awesome Andy Wildman rendering, but there was so much going on then that he was never going to more than a minor plot function.

G1 Fangry's bot mode is great. Boxy but with nice proportions and a great headsculpt. That big green faces really pops. What's funny about the head sculpt is how amiable and amused his expression is. Like, isn't this guy's riff that he's possessed of an uncontrollable temper?

His beast mode is barmy. The wings/shield is just so odd and the detailing on his beast head and arms is just so un-transformer-like and has more in common with the Pretender Beasts. But I adore it. He's a mischievous little wolf that looks like he's doing a wee dance and has pinned a fan to his back.

So I’ve definitely paid too much for too little several times as a toy collector, but I think this takes the biscuit. This may well be the most annoying, scalper-friendly, gash grab scenario I’ve engaged with.

So you’re hip. I know that. I don’t need to explain all this stuff to you. I’m saying it for the benefit of the other guy behind you, ok? Cool. Let’s go. *clears throat* Fangry is one of the four characters release in the Target exclusive ‘Buzzworthy Bumblebee: World’s Collide’ set. A set that’s been particularly hard to get if you live in a country that doesn’t have Target. Which I don’t.

This has led to many of us trying to get whichever characters we were desperate to get from the set from ebay at unavoidably high prices, especially when you factor in shipping in these post-Brexit times. I probably could have bought another Rodimus for what I paid for this guy. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; we are all sluts.

And it’s so dumb. Fangry is, ultimately, a very cheap product. He’s a minor retool (sorry, partial. old habits) of the ol’ Titans Return Monsterbot mold, predominantly Grotusque with Doublecross’s beast feet, and a straight-up reuse of the Titans Return Fangry head with some fancier paint apps. I mean, they gave Repugnus a new head when he got a full size figure. For shame!

The new bits he’s got are interesting. They’ve opted for the clunky ’88 HM style chest display (which I can’t decide if I love or hate), and he’s got new hands, new shoulders, and a new beast head.

So despite my cynical tone, I actually think this all works really nicely. The beast mode is pretty much spot on. He absolutely feels like a modern update of the old beastie, and I love that the jaw has some articulation, limited though its range is. And it’s a really cool beast mode head sculpt. And the TR Monsterbot mode works really well on a character that’s bot mode body is as generic as Fangry’s. Also, I think the paint deco’s are really nice and classy. The TM looks so much better, and a spot of metallic blue on the knees, sir? How decadent!

It must be said the mold feels like it’s starting to show some signs of wear. The knees are far floppier than and of the other uses, and the soft plastic that forms the beast hips and bot ankle is looking way ragged.

I really wish this had been released in a more…normal way. I actually really like the toy. I don’t regret spending the money on him, because I’ve got a lot of love for the character, but I think that I had to pay over the odds is unfortunate. I’m likely to only actually get annoyed if they release an all-new dedicated mold for him. I’ll still buy it, of course. We are all sluts.

I have to be honest, I'm something of a Snyderverse apologist, but I too loaded up Man of Steel the other day and didn't get very far into it. I like Snyder's consistent tone, I like the stylishness he brings to his films, I genuinely do like him as a director. But I don't think he's done any good films. To be honest, I think it's because he's more style over substance that I like his work. It's kind of refreshing as a contrast to Marvel's output in a way - their films are always good, always fun, but usually playing things a little bit safe. Snyder has a bit of auteur in him, and I like that.

For example, the opening of BVSDOJ, where Bruce Wayne is watching the end of MoS from the ground, and sees just two destructive aliens causing mayhem for no good reason - that's good visual storytelling right there, and sets up why Batman's going to be against Superman at an early stage. Then having Bruce quote Donald fuckin' Rumsfeld in his dialogue is an absolute crock of horseshite.

I’m fully on the Pipes hype-train. Always preferred his design to Huffers.

Excited to finally get a look at Blaster, Blitzwing and the new Stunticon lads in the Legacy line.

And really pumped to see where the SS86 line goes next year as well, with some cool characters on the leak listed for 2022!

It's probably going to be a 12-18 months window. They would want to keep consumers hanging by the promise of a gestalt - a MP Gestalt - while keeping your MP budget alive for the main line and the occasional MPM.

I have been waiting for a new Raiden for a very long time: the Trainbots were quite prominent in my after-school Headmasters cartoons

I am not surprised Rodimus was an unpopular leader. Look at that, a whole train booked just for himself. Cybertron has no green economy.

Blaster is an absolute must have in my opinion.
I nearly bought the CW leader due to nostalgia about toy scale but I'm glad I didn't. New version is most definitely the business :)

I've been wanting a more G1/Toy accurate Generations Skids for a while and the new one fits the bill - maybe even a little too slavishly?

Haven't seen Pointblank, but Crankcase is on... er.. point ;) . Looking forward to bulking up my Scavengers with him and my Fulcrum custom from @Ottertron :)

The individual stunticons look pretty good.
So good I sold my CW versions in preparation, even though I'd originally decided I wouldn't.

Which leads directly to @barry's qoute about us all being sluts for new transformers

    Cheers all!
