Okay, the whole "HasLab Star Saber is the first time Hasbro has released a Japanese character" line was already on dodgy ground (or flat out wrong), but the actual designer is the guy who did the original Masterpiece and who I'm going to guess actually works for TakaraTomy? So what makes this a Hasbro project and not a TakTomy project? Is it just because it's being marketed to the US first?

(I am endlessly fascinated by hwo Transformers has ended up as this weird property split between two different countries with two different companies. It's almost certainly a strength that allows it to adapt and evolve.)

The only thing that makes it a Hasbro product is it is released by Hasbro. Every product has been designed in conjunction with Hasbro and Takara for the last twenty years. Even stuff like Titanium and Star Wars / Marvel Transformers which were developed fully "in house" at Hasbro, Takara would still have been clued in with emails and other communications. The two companies have a very unique and awesome working relationship.

At 80s peak I believe Hideaki Yoki moved to the US for a few years to help the two companies develop the brand.

Utter chaos today but did open Impactor, he’s super floppy and the articulations a little weird but I think he’s a solid base figure. I do like the way he can rotate his fist into a port and he’s very generic in a good way.

So i decided to take a chance on Mafex not fucking them up and threw down a couple of deposits for their Psylocke and Knightfall Batman (AzBats) over with Curibo.

Hopefully they wont have any major issues, but its not from ebay so I would have some rights in the event of a breakage like when i ordered a Figma figure from HLJ, the shoulder was seized so they sent me a whole new upper body

Finally opened the package i bought from @Skywarp SCS all that time ago. 20211005_175048.jpg

There are more, but these are the guys opened today. Simple, blocky, fun. I like these little energon guys.

That insecticon will be classics barrage. Just need to work out the others now. Was thinking cw chop shop and potp kickback repainted, but they'll be too scrawny next to barrage. Then i realised, new insecticons are coming so i could just get the new shrapnel and kickback and paint them. Job done.

Never saw that insecticon in that colour scheme. Nice. The energon scouts by and large were great. Particularly the terrorcons.

    Amazing shot
