ideally to me, a condescend, simplified version of the MTMTE 3-parter.

but honestly, the 1st bayverse film was pretty damn close to a good Tf film, with a few changes:
-colors/looks closer to their classic ones would be nice but not a deal breaker since i have come to appreciate their movieverse designs.
-cut down on dirty jokes/human filler(no glenn, less time following lennox's team, sams high school woes/police station)
-introduce the autobots sooner so we have more time with them
-keep arcee as a 6th autobot as her smaller size means she could interact with the humans a bit more
-give the cons a bit more screen time prior to rallying to megatron, and personality during the city battle
    -clearer barricade fate
-either bee gets his voice back when he touches the allspark or has a better voice when he gets his voice back at the end
-more focus on optimus V megs fight

That fine and all. But does it look like an underwere ad from the 90s?

Don't ask me. I only found these 'cause I thought the artstyle was cool. Plus I'm a big Ratchet & Clank fan so that's another reason why I like the art.

Lovely artwork! As a ratchet and clank fan, the character artists did a great job here.

Personally, I would like something that's, obviously, fun to watch, but also does something interesting with the concept that doesn't try and shoehorn in dated cartoon ideas just to pander to nostalgia...Nostalgia's cool and all, but can also stunt creativity if treated like a dogma.

That's the thing for me, I liked a lot of the ideas the 2007 film seemed to be trying to go for, it just got marred down by a lot of bullshit that just kept piling up with every movie that came after.

That's the other thing that's weird about me as a fan of transformers, I don't hate the human element...I just dislike the way it ended up getting handled...I would want a film that tells the story evenly between humans and the transformers, given the biggest thing that appeals to me about the franchise is robots transforming into various earth based vehicles,(Among other things) for that you have to have the human element for it to work, for it to mean something.

So that's basically my ideal TF film. A live action movie of the same quality of one of the better Marvel films, with a story focusing on both bots and humans that works, that's not hindered by trying to force feed the audience member berries.

...I'd also like a million dollars, un-taxed, while I'm at it.

A "Last Stand of the Wreckers" animated film.

Ideally, I'd like something written and produced at a high enough quality to both appeal to nerds like me and become popular enough as a blockbuster in theaters or streaming services to introduce new people to Transformers fandom.

I have no objection to 3d animation techniques being used, but I want the overall aesthetic to be that of a 2d, tricolor anime. (I'm a big fan of how Otaking77077 achieves a 2d look while using 3d assets to animate incredibly complex mechanical structures in his Star Wars animations for example. My dream vision of this picture would similarly emulate his tactics in order to achieve visually stunning mechanical set pieces, but combined with traditional 2d techniques for character art and facial expressions that need to look more emotive and organic.)

Our movie opens on a cold open of prison bars unlocking and flying open as desperate Decepticons riot against abusive prison guards and Overlord then takes over Garrus-9 among spine chilling carnage before we pan off of the planet and, to parallel the beginning of the 1986 movie, we show the title of the film spread across the blackness of space, meanwhile an 80s Stan Bush track plays (
    ...perhaps).

I feel a weakness of Transformers films for Transformers fans (like the 1986 classic) is technically that they can be pretty unapproachable to people who aren't already familiar with the characters and the premise. I think the ideal film shouldn't spoonfeed its audience, but like in well-executed blockbusters like Mad Max: Fury Road, the film should operate by "show don't tell" to show the audience enough context for newcomers to still be able to deduce what's going on.

I also think the opening credits should do some work to establish characters and reduce confusion. While the opening track plays, establishing the premise through the lyrics, there should be a montage of our cast of characters in the background. As voice actor credits are given on screen- we would show sufficiently dramatic character portraits of who the actors are voicing, alongside the character names. Serving as a cool moment for fans to get hype about what characters will be in the movie/seeing their faves looking badass, meanwhile anyone who wandered into the theater has their first exposure to these characters and their names by osmosis.

The next scene is of Autobot command discussing what to do about the Garrus-9 situation, bringing the audience up to speed but not revealing too much. The scene after that introduces us to the cast members who will be newly recruited into the wreckers for the film.

The plot of the film itself should not actually be a direct copy of the comicbook, I feel. In some ways, it needs to be streamlined for film adaptation (and character designs would need to be altered to suit animation, be easily distinguishable from each other, and "pop" on screen more for a fast moving visual medium imo.)

It might serve well to have a very brief flashback establishing Verity's relationship to Ultra Magnus for example simply in order to provide an in-text explanation for why she's there.

Similarly, if exposition is going to be used and commentary on the Autobots' own war crimes is to be made, I think we could bring in more background lore like mentioning "Babu Yar" and other atrocities committed by Autobots and Decepticons alike. There should be some foreshadowing regarding Autobot commanders' reasons for wanting to bury the Aequitas Trials, and due emphasis on the horrors of war once the truth is revealed. The war crimes like morphcore harvests and rust injections are merely mentioned in dialogue in the original comic, but a new adaptation has the opportunity to actually show those things visually for full effect.

In terms of story structuring, I think choosing the "nobodies" tagging along (ie. Ironfist and co.) to be POV characters explicitly, with no tips or giveaways aside from subtle foreshadowing, is important for full impact The audience is equally lost in the grandeur of the Wreckers and their reputation just like these newbies up until these characters realize the truth and become disillusioned, and then all is revealed through the remaining plot, confessions, and flashbacks.

I also don't really like to rely on the narration of the datalogs as used in the comic for this adaptation. I don't feel it would transfer well to a video production and it might waste time saying things that can be expressed more efficiently and emotionally visually. I like the Wreckers written adventures being established as a popular piece of media among the rank-and-file and using these stories to establish a falsified patriotic war narrative that the story will debunk and subvert later. But aside from that, I do not particularly like the framing through data logs throughout the plot or at the story's conclusion and wouldn't vouch to use them.

There is one big thing I would change for a blockbuster picture though- and essentially just for name recognition, hype, chaos, and the opportunity to show more cool robot slashing:
I would condense the plot of the Wreckers saga to include Arcee in this movie.

She's a well-known, fan favorite character even among non-fans (who might have no idea who "Springer" is, but do remember the "pink girl robot" from their youth or other media.) She's also another woman in a story which otherwise only has Verity as a female cast member and might not appeal as much therefore to diverse audiences who do not simply want to see a "boy toy/macho man" robot movie with no gender balance and which is easily dismissed therefore as not being of any intellectual substance. And she's frankly just fucking badass- so as much as I love the original plot, I also live and die by "the rule of cool."

Narratively, in my opinion, this can be pretty easily written in by simply making Arcee one of the prisoners on Garrus-9. In fact, the only surviving Autobot prisoner on Garrus-9, spared by the fact that she was trapped in maximum security. And not a prisoner that Autobot high command actually wanted or intended to release due to her instability- but through serendipity, she becomes a tool to the flailing Autobot rescue team needs as they try to survive.

Her presence would change a number of character interactions, but I think playing it as Arcee being the one character who both knows about the Wreckers + Aequitas Trials and also has no political motivation to hide her knowledge to protect the Autobot cause, makes her then both a useful narrator and a new avenue for subtext before the big reveal when Ironfist enters the Chamber.

Anyways yeah I think about this a lot and I see imaginary AMVs for this nonexistent film in my brain sometimes. Lol.
Thanks to anyone who read this bullshit

My ideal movie would be set on Cybertron. The story would begin with what led up to the war. It would introduce the main core of characters in both factions, including backstories. We would see the rise of Optimus, the Autobots, Megatron and the Decepticons. Cities like Iacon, Polyhex, Praxus, Kaon, Vos, Altihex, Kalis would be featured. We would see citizens of Cybertron escaping their home world for safety. We'd witness the Ark and Nemesis take flight.
This movie would be it's own universe with zero ties to the 86 movie, Bayverse or Knightvision.
Character design would be more modern day G1.

Animated, non-CGI, not on Netflix and in no way involved with Kevin Smith, Warren Ellis or Michael Bay.

It's a lot to ask, but I feel these are the best criteria or success.

After watching Aquaman and Malignant, I think James Wan needs to try his hand at a Transformers movie.

He's already slated to do Robotech though, I think. So, close enough.

I would hire Peter Berg after watching the American Sniper for a hypothetical Transformers/Gi Joe crossover film could serve as a Reboot for both franchises.

None of your ideal movies are getting made, so you may as well ask for anything without limitations. It's a fantasy world where Hasbro and Paramount don't care if it bombs, and they're willing to spend anything on what you want even if it bankrupts them. Hear me out, but I think that what I want takes the cake.

All issues of Marvel comic recreated verbatim as the longest film ever made with expensive CGI designs like Optimus Prime in Bumblebee, amazing synth score and sound engineering, and all the voice actors you're probably thinking of or ones who can act similarly to the ones who're too old or dead. I also want it to include a prelude recreated from Transformers '84, I want it to include all 332 issues of the extended UK run, I want it to recreate the Marvel comic version of The Movie to lead into Target: 2006, I want it to follow through into G2 and create new visuals for Simon Furman's Alignment, then I want a new time travel arc where they rewind to before G2 and go down the Regeneration One path instead, after which another time travel arc goes even further back to the beginning of time and sets the 2005 IDW continuity into motion. The film will have several special editions to include the 2019 continuity and every subsequent reboot of the G1 comic. I don't think I'm asking for too much.
