Just remember "no carrots" when tallying Gunpla related expenses that are tax deductable as a business investment.
Duly noted good sir. And incase anyone is wondering. I have chosen to hit the pen, watch Evil Dead II with the future misses and start on Marsfour. Today’s my Saturday night so gotta live it up before the middle age sets in.
You'll have better luck than I have trying to use my Agricultural Tax Exemption to skirt shipping and sales tax on supplies.. I even show pictures of the Moobile Sweeties to prove I'm buying Gunpla Weapon packs for them. My MS-X04-F2 Jesta needs extra support because she's got a new calf in development.
*get ready everyone, here they come. I'm kind of hoping for a Hardy(Gun) or a Zirah. Sire is MBS-84- F2 Goldo under the alias of first mate Wiggles the Char(gaur) Clone. ...he's literally a 1:100 scale replica of his father. I should also mention his *other nickname is Mr. Shoot-to-Kill but this isn't the "GODANNAR!!" Thread. You all will know why. Also, seeing how the latest Calf of his was just born inherited his (and her mother's) Pinzgauer - Exclusive Colored Version milksplash patterns. The NON-SCALE V-Series Model, "Ova" has a skull squadron marking. This means Jesta is the testbed for a Master Grade Silhouette Formula to Crossbone generation! In the main herd deployment, I'm counting on Ms-14-F1 Jegan to produce the Gustav. *because in Bulltorchika's Calving and novel version of Hathaway's Milksplash *Pinzgauer reference!!* there was no Jesta in between development cycles . Jegan has a hi boney structure and she fleshes up well to a full armor when she's not under stress. now her current offshoot, MS-X51-F2 Zeta is fully weaned and a feedlot diva. *no current picture on hand at moment, you could say it's a Side Story for another day. Then there's MS-35-F1.... Miss Sazabi owes me a Penelope. She's robust, but she's got a streak of under-developing. Her Nu and Nightingale were like that new Gundam toyline that shall not be named... and I had to bury the Build-A-Figure which was Sazabi's last calf. .... no current picture of Jupiter Calf Fleet Ms-C56-F2 Qubeley but she's doing fine. She just keeps her distance. And I'm done!! Play us out MS-X54-F2 Nemo! *DOOM MUSIC* Back to the Building of Real Gunpla. - Sentinel reference! The MkV's bellbottom flairs are open to the back side and from below. So, I'm really giving this kit the full undercoating but keeping it within the lines of the parts that fill in the undersides. Then two uninterrupted hours of a groove, and some mistakes to touch up later... Still need to fill in the back half of the leg panels and edging.
Started the GM Sniper II White Dingo and I didnt know it but this kit is seam line hell. - ALL the weapons have seam lines and it comes with like 5-6 weapons. - The sensor thing or whatever its called on the side of the head has a seam line. - The ankle guard has a horrible seam line that needs to be fixed. Had I known this I probably wouldve waited on building this kit Finished painting the frame yesterday. Today I move onto the white and blue parts.
An interesting kit/addon i saw on showZ/Gundamit [Pre-Order] WM MBF-P03third Gundam Astray Blue Frame Conversion Kit for MG Gundam Astray [Pre-Order] WM MBF-P03third Gundam Astray Red Frame Conversion Kit for MG Gundam Astray They also have the SRW/MRD Hyper Mega Bazooka Launcher in both Hi-Nu and Nu Gundam colors [Pre-Order] Effects Wings 1/144 EWRG021B Hyper Mega Bazooka Launcher for RX-93-ν2 Hi-ν Gundam Model Kit [Pre-Order] Effects Wings 1/144 EWRG021A Hyper Mega Bazooka Launcher for RX-93 ν Gundam Model Kit
My train of thought at 2AM: "I'll look at more sample build pictures of the MkV, get some more ideas on painting it." *Looks at pictures of the missile pods, seeing the lines engraved between the individual hatches linked together* "...Could I.. cut that? ... I don't know, I don't want to screw this up..." *A few hours later....* I can only fail at this once... Just be very careful. Don't force the saw down, just run the blade down the molded lines in long steady strokes... ... this is the part where my friends both said "Giggity." Cutting through from the back, seeing the lines break along into edge of flashing. One more cut and a flex later... That's one!! Go for one more before I have to close up the shop for a bit? That's two!!! I'll finish the other two in a little while!
Man, had to cancel a bunch of pre/backorders on HLJ. Medical expenses are piling up, and since I don't yet know what's going to be covered I moved my payment method over to Paypal and off my credit card just in case. Only problem is that unlike a CC I can't afford things randomly coming in stock lest I don't have money in that account at the moment, but it is what it is. Kept FRS OOO, MG Virtue, the 30MM head set, and the only backorders I left were the MG X and HG Helmwige Reincar. The latter of which seems like it'll never happen what with the Gunpla shortages, which sucks because I need it to finish the third and final main mech of my story. (which I've started uploading online finally, though I don't have many reads yet) This plastic shortage sucks. Normally I wouldn't even have half that stuff preordered since it was mostly HGs and 30MM I cancelled, but Gunpla/models have now also become this terribly unfun "gotta buy it immediately or you'll miss out" hobby like Transformers. Gunpla was always so relaxing because, barring exclusives, there was never really any "pressure." What is the little picture of the Nu Gundam's face pointing out? I only have the Deathscythe, and IMO it's a very solid figure if a little bland. It's not as dynamic or posable as a Robot Damashii, but it's not as limited as an old MSIA. It's kind of like the exact halfway point, marred only by the lack of clear plastic.
It's a new mask. The Nu package comes with a new face mask with a longer jawline, description on USAGS says it's modeled after the Master Grade Ver Ka. https://www.usagundamstore.com/products/hyper-mega-launcher-for-rg-nu-gundam-1-144
Mwahahahahahah haaaa!!! It's done! From four fixed sets of hatches, to twelve independently opening hatches!! They cleaned up quickly, and realligning them was easy. I tagged each set so I could keep them identified before I had them secured. The work on the whole of the missile pods is just starting. Looking at how I started painting them, I'm going to paint the entire back side of the hatches. Lining them up on the tape stick just kept them in order. Set in place, they gap as they naturally should. This was something I was nervous about screwing up, but ended up being much easier than I expected. I painted each salvo in my dark gray, and still need to clip and treat the linkages that hold the pods before I close them up.
Lot of stuff happened the last few weeks, including me buying a new bigger apartment. Still found time to build a RG Unicorn. Quite fun going from the huge MG sazabi to this little guy. I heard that the RG version is generally better than the MG versions, except perhaps the new MGEX. But the MGEX is one expensive bastard.
I'm of the mind that the MG isn't terrible, just stiff as heck, with the elbows and knees only able to bend 90 degrees (and the knees only ~45 degrees on the original ver. KA. Improved on the Anime version). The biggest weakness to the kit being the wimpy 2.0-style hands that wear out quickly and can't hold crap. The RG is definitely much improved though. The multi-injection frame makes the transformation mechanics feel a bit more solid than the traditional sandwich-joint construction, and the RG was able to piggy-back off of a lot of the engineering enhancements made for the PG, in terms of the articulation design. Despite its smaller size, the RG does feel quite a bit more solid, and more "playable" for the most part.
Good to know. I do have a MG Banshee ver. KA. in the backlog that I will eventually get to. I think that is a later version of the mold and fixed some of the early issues? My backlog has grown a bit this last month so a bit unsure what to do next. Many tempting kits to start with, but I think I will do a relaxing Seed Zaku variant.
Hrm, looking at Dalong.net's gallery, the Banshee ver. KA looks to be a bit of a back-slide. The anime version came first, with the Armed Arms equipment, and had the retooled knee armour from the Unicorn anime ver. that allowed for more knee movement. The Banshee ver. KA matches the original novel design instead, where the only difference was the head crest and colours, and seems to only have the older leg armour that restricts the knees (more).
What's sad is the OVA Banshee is already 98% of the Unicorn Version Ka and has everything to make it into the Novel version minus the Beam Magnum... and you can build it with the retooled leg parts. That's pretty much what I think is the whole problem with the MG Unicorn. The Version Ka is, dare I say, the worst possible version of the Unicorn and they just milked it too many times in rapid succession, and they omit the parts made for the OVA version.
What's more, IIRC the designer of the Unicorn even straight up admitted that no consideration was made for how the hell the transformation would translate into a physical model kit. Really says something about the people at Bandai who design these things that they were ever able to make the RG which is so much better than the MG.
