ok this is getting interesting , a stone that will turn into a transformer , what could it be ?

Wasn't he a producer of that Bumblebee movie to?

It's Paramount, so you're not getting rid of him that easily. Good news is just like the last 2 TF films we don't have to waste any time or money on it.

So I'm sure something like paint drying will be more entertaining once the next Bay related TF film is flung at a screen.

 

I grew tired of the Bay-bashing and stopped caring back in 2014 but i have to say i\'m amazed there is still people backing those movies, mostly cause now the Bumblebee movie exists as a demonstration that decent realistic TFs flicks can be achieved, and apart from some designs from the opening scene the main cast still looked nothing like G1 in that too, but it still worked fine.

 

As someone who can credit Michael Bay for getting me back into Transformers after decades of radio silence avoiding the toys and the franchise, I'm happy he's happy. And if he's still involved in the franchise I am happier still. I know directing has been handed off to others, but as long as he's still onboard in some capacity I know this movie is in good hands.

According to Travis Knight, he did a very good job - he was very supportive to Knight during the whole process, even sitting him down for a chat at the start of it and giving him some advice, and even sticking up for him when the studio got nervous about what Knight wanted to do.

It's rather telling that Knight has spoken rather well of Bay and Spielberg... but didn't say anything, positive or negative, about anybody else (especially Lorenzo). So, either Lorenzo's involvement has actually been deeply downplayed (and Bay and Spielberg are really running the team now) or Knight had a bad run-in with Lorenzo and, quite understandably, wouldn't want to talk about it.

Guys (not you, Nova), you're making a whole fuss about nothing. We don't know the exact story of why Bay is visiting the set - maybe Caple asked him to help out. Maybe he's coming in a supervisory capacity, just to check everything's okay (especially after IIRC, somebody tried to steal the prop vehicles). Or maybe he's just interested in seeing how things are going and wants to see the sights in Peru.

It's not like he's totally uninvolved in the film - he's a producer here, just as he was with Bumblebee and producers often visit the set of films they're involved in. It's their way of keeping up-to-date with things. And, let's be honest here, how often do you get to visit Macchu Picchu and call it a business trip?

I agree Bay being the producer (Which we've known for months already!) is not a big deal, it's likely he will have very little involvement in the production. Maybe he will offer a bit of advice here and there, but that's about it. He had the same producer credit on Bumblebee, this is no different.

About why Travis Knight didn't say anything publicly about Lorenzo, is probably more down to the fact that Lorenzo's is not a big known name like Michael Bay & Steven Spielberg, he's not being asked what it's like working with Lorenzo by press etc. so he might not feel the need to say much about him.

I'm sure there are plenty of people Travis Knight had a good time working with on Bumblebee that he has not publicly mentioned. He talks about Bay & Spielberg because people want to hear about them. I don't think you can assume he had a bad relationship with Lorenzo on the basis he hasn't talked about him publicly. Just my thoughts on it.
